THE BRUTAL RETURN OF THE BEST THERE IS...WITH AN UNLIKELY PARTNER!
DEADPOOL was the king of Staten Island - now he wants to be an honorary citizen of Krakoa. WOLVERINE just wants him to shut up. But when Deadpool uncovers a dangerous plot that could mean doom for the mutants' safe haven, it's going to take a titanic team-up of the Best There Is and the Merc with a Mouth to quell the threat. But that doesn't mean Logan has to like it. Featuring Wolverine and Deadpool at their most savage, as well as the return of a fan-favorite X-character to the Krakoan era! (And no, we don't mean Wade.)

You Don't Read Comics - David Harth Apr 27, 2022

Wolverine #20 is more fun than just about any issue of any X-book has been in the Krakoa era. Percy builds a great plot and uses Deadpool adroitly, making everything that much more entertaining. The art team of Kubert, Martin, and Lima are on fire, but that's to be expected with a team this good. All in all, another fantastic issue. Read Full Review

This is an excellent, entertaining issue that balances espionage against insanity. We do need a bit more action but hopefully we get more of that as the excellent arc progresses. Read Full Review

Wolverine #20 is a great return for the series afterX Lives of Wolverine and X Deaths of Wolverineput the main series on hiatus. Smartly, the creative team is having a bit of fun with Deadpool after a serious 10-issue epic, and boy is it a lot of fun to have Deadpool back in all his glory. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Collier "CJ" Jennings Apr 18, 2022

Wolverine #20 picks up in the aftermath ofX Lives/X Deaths of Wolverine by pairing the clawed Canadian with Deadpool for an off-the-rails mission. It's a nice change of pace from the usual Wolverine stories, but that's for the best: sometimes you have to shake things up to keep a character fresh. Read Full Review

    COMICON - Scott Redmond Apr 21, 2022

Not much has changed for Wolverine as the clawed mutant's solo title enters the age of Destiny of X, with a whole extra helping of Deadpool along for the ride. Fans of both these characters, especially when they are together, will get a whole lot of what they probably like and overall not much else. Read Full Review

    Graphic Policy - Brett Apr 20, 2022

Your enjoyment of Wolverine #20 will really rely on what version of Deadpool you like and your preferred dosage. The issue balances things for me though is right up to the line. It also doesn't quite feel like a “Wolverine issue” as opposed to a “Deadpool issue” or the start of some miniseries. Still, there's a lot to like and the direction and hints as to what's to come should be interesting. If nothing else, it's a good starting point for those looking to dive into the series. The Comicbook Dispatch - Dispatchdcu Apr 18, 2022

WOLVERINE #20 was not "hilarious as it is heart-bruised. Kubert's art was not overly stellar and focused on too many smaller panel progressions and needed more detail than usual. Maybe with time, my opinion will change? But for right now, if this is the new status quo, I think this reviewer may be taking a hard pass until DEADPOOL finds his way off the title.
