THE LONG AWAITED SECOND ISSUE ARRIVES! Superman continues his mission to find a cure for what's killing Lex Luthor. When the present has no answers, maybe the future will! But will the Legion of Super-Heroes help Clark find a cure for a man like Luthor?
I have barely mentioned Bryan Hitch's art and layouts which all sing, especially with Nowlan's inks. I can only hope the last issue comes out sooner! Read Full Review
The struggle of conscience pushes Clark Kent to his breaking point in another epic chapter. Waid takes Lex Luthor into an emotional rollercoaster with the writing. Waid really is a master of this corner of the DCU, and it's no surprise that his most ambitious work is one of his best. Now let's hope we get the final issue in short order! Read Full Review
I am genuinely impressed how much Superman: The Last Days of Lex Luthor #2 stands on its own as the middle of a three part story especially with how delayed it was. Don't let the DC Black Label fool you either as there's nothing overtly "adult about this book, or series, thus far. Read Full Review
It's definitely worth the wait with lavishly, detailed art from Hitch and Nowlan as they and Waid take us on a tour through the different elements of Superman's world such as the Legion of Superheroes, Themiscyra, and even Lori Lemaris and Atlantis while the Man of Steel looks for a cure for Luthor's terminal illness. Superman: The Last Days of Lex Luthor #2 is a visually stunning, adventure-filled chapter that expands the scope of this story while reinforcing Superman's unwavering commitment to saving Lex. Though the issue lacks major plot progression up until the cliffhanger, it successfully builds on the emotional and philosophical debate surrounding their relationship. Mark Waid's writing and Bryan Hitch's artwork make for an engaging read, even if the structure leans toward the repetitive. Read Full Review
Mark Waid is perhaps the most consistent writer in modern comic's.
Luthor has always fascinated me and Waid's love of the character is felt. How I wish this was a normal series.
His Batman and Robin comic is one of the best DC books I've ever read.
as a sesquel to Superman Birthright, this rocks hard. Superman has a lot of great content, and Mark Waid truly understands why Superman is inspirational. I am very intrigued on the final player of this story and how it will play out.
A truly outstanding cliffhanger ending and dynamic artwork are offset a bit by a plot that doesn’t move the story forward so much as sideways. More great work from Waid, but this middle chapter gets a bit repetitive with its themes.
