The League needs to prevent galactic upheaval by protecting a ruthless killer, and the only way to do that is to visit the scene of their greatest failure! But can Superman ignore the ghosts of the past to do what's needed?
Justice League: Last Ride #2 is a heavy yet sublime comic. Inside these pages is a battle full of devastation and unflinching trauma. But there are also subtle explorations of what happens to relationships in the aftermath of grief. There have only been two issues of this alternate timeline, but the reader is invested incredibly quickly. Zdarsky may be one of the best orchestrators of sadness in the business, able to manipulate misery with excruciating results. The art team brings this blockbuster to life. Read Full Review

Chip Zdarsky's constant stream of great work just keeps getting better, and if this series carries on the same way it started; Justice League: Last Ride is definitely going to be up there with the Elseworld stories of Legend. Justice League: Last Ride #2 is a thrill ride you don't want to miss! Read Full Review
Justice League: Last Ride #2 also deals with the idea of "Batman's orders," which is also the name of this chapter. Where the past and present show us the Caped Crusader barking demands left and right. In the past, things go smoothly – right up until the moment that they don't. In the present, with the ‘Batman dropped the ball last time' context, we get the feeling that Bruce doesn't hold as much weight in the League as he used to. Batman's orders don't ring the same bells and Zdarsky lets the reader sit with that. Read Full Review
Mendonca delivers some stunning visuals throughout the issue especially the battle scenes in the flashbacks. There is great composition to these scenes and they are all visually exciting. Read Full Review
In its second issue, 'Last Ride' raises the stakes as it dives deeper into the horrific battle that broke the League apart. Read Full Review
Justice League: Last Ride #2 provides greater details on what occurred in this Elseworld as a Crisis-level event caused a divergence from where the current DC Universe is at. Those details what took place in the past worked well to add further tension in the story taking place in the present even though there wasn't much progression on that front. Read Full Review
All of which is to say, readers who appreciate good Justice League stories will almost certainly continue to enjoy Last Ride. Perhaps it's wise to just not set expectations too high, though. Read Full Review
I am still waiting for that moment where something clicks here that makes this a must-read for me. It looks great, and there are some cool action scenes, but the overall story and mystery don't have me as intrigued as I think it's supposed to. Overall, it's good so far when I expected great. But, I guess that's the price of expectation that Zdarsky's paying for being one of my favorite writers. Read Full Review
As I've said, I like this issue a lot more than #1. I feel like the creative team is slowly starting to win me over, although we're not quite there yet, as I still have several doubts and concerns. But the artwork went from good (in the first issue) to very good (in this issue), and I'm definitely curious to see what issue #3 has in store for us. Read Full Review
Last Ride has some intriguing elements, but a bickering Superman and Batman and the death of some Leaguers doesn't feel like a fresh enough story at this point. Read Full Review
Zdarsky one of my favorite writers
we get to know more about the past, and the art looks great nad the modern story is interesting.
Arts nice, writing wasn't anything special for Zdarsky, but still good.
Transition issue
Chip Zdarsky is one of my favorite current Marvel/DC writers with his Daredevil and Red Hood series, but this story has been somewhat boring so far so hopefully it picks up next issue.
This felt more like a setup issue, but it was fine. Nothing big happened, and I kind of don't have anything to say about this one. It's a shame because it's Zdarsky.
