Apokolips: once the fiery terror of the Multiverse, now a lifeless husk filled with ghosts and dark secrets. Will the planet formerly ruled by Darkseid help the Justice League...or destroy it?
Justice League: Last Ride #3 is a beautiful comic. This is a series that shows how different the Justice League can be if a writer removes one thing: spirit. These characters have been through something traumatic, and have been struggling to regain the spark they had between them. Read Full Review
Stunning art, flawless writing, I would recommend this issue to a stranger in the street. If you love comic books, if you love superheroes, if you love the Justice League. PLEASE READ Justice League: Last Ride #3 Read Full Review
Justice League: Last Ride #3 continues this intriguing story from Chip Zdarsky and Miguel Mendonca. I just wish that the Justice League's adventures in their monthly title were this good. DC should consider wooing Zdarsky to taking it over when Bendis decides to move on. Read Full Review
Last Ride started out like a fun diversion, but Zdarsky and Mendonca make the case that theyd be an upgrade over the current Justice League team. Read Full Review

Halfway through, and I still have very little idea what's going to happen next"but I have little doubt that it's going to deliver some great twists and turns. Read Full Review
Mendonca delivers some amazing art throughout the issue. There are great character moments throughout and the tension in the art as the characters prepare for battle is fantastic. Read Full Review
'Last Ride' continues to explore the survivor's guilt of superheroes, but in this more leisurely paced third issue, we finally get to see a glimmer of hope. Read Full Review
No matter how enjoyable it may be to see these characters clearly conceived in roasting s'mores or delivering some straight talk, it's time for this story to add some much needed context to frame these smaller moments with consequence. Read Full Review
I'm still hopeful that this series will improve in quality now that we're past the halfway mark"there are plenty of great ideas in this book that this creative team can work with. If you're still on the fence at this point, I recommend you sit back, check out reviews, and wait for trade (it'll probably read better in trade anyway). Read Full Review
Justice League Last Ride continues to be a challenging read for me. I can't figure out the purpose of this book besides boring me with its slow pace and forced character moments. I am a Chip Zdarsky fan, just not a fan of this book. Read Full Review
While we've seen the destruction of the League a number of times, Zdarsky's story is something a little more. The characterization is strong and the interactions engaging and entertaining. It reminds me of how much I miss seeing Hal Jordan interact with his contemporaries and I hope that this is the start of a trend of seeing this.
My favorite book this week.
Lots to like here. The different view of a "dead" Apokolips, Desaad's "summer home", the slightly tense campfire with our heroes...it's very much in the vein of a classic Western where all the heroes are tired and ready to hang up the spurs. I'm interested in seeing where everything goes.
I don't often see Superman as being the one to disrupt everything. Especially since Batman seems to be the most troubled and Superman is getting on his case too hard. It's really refreshing for Wonder Woman being the one to talk him down. Because from what I understand about Superman, he works best as a public figure, not a soldier. I mean Flash gets to get a couple over Batman and Superman with just a campfire.
I like the conversation between the justice leagues of them eating smores
Pretty slow issue. That cover is amazing
If you're looking for an action-packed comic, this isn't it, as the JLA take a breather on Apokolips. Fortunately, Zdarsky is good at writing dialogue, so the conversations are interesting. The artwork is top tier.
I thought this was good. I just wish Batman didn't come across quite so... Batgod-like? I understand the point is that he's withdrawn from his friends and therefore he's mastered sleep, but my god, that's just too much for me.
Not a fan of Zdarsky's Batman
Tedious.
Very underwhelming and boring, it tries to be dark but fails to be interesting, Zack Snyder's JL seems like Super Friends in comparison to the tone of this.
