Call me crazy, but I didn't see how fun inanimate objects becoming demons would be and it continues to be super fun in Mary Jane & Black Cat. The dynamic between these characters is rife for further exploration and while there may be too many mysteries going on right now, you'll likely be here for the ride thanks to Jed MacKay's mastery in writing both characters. Far more fun, was the issue's back-up story in which Felicia tells a tall tale to friends over a poker game about how she once stole Doctor Doom's mask. It's worth a read. Read Full Review

I would recommend this one if you are a fan of either of these two characters and especially if you want to see them team up again in a story. This one does not seem to be as grounded as the previous story I have seen them in. Read Full Review

It's written by MacKay. You know it's good. It's another story where I really dislike the idea, but the execution is done pretty well.

What a joy it is to have this series! The backup is honestly better than the main story, but I'm just so pleased to have a McKay Black Cat/MJ comic that it's hard to be bothered about a little thing like that

These tie-in books are better than anything Dark Web has done so far because these writers actually understand the characters. Not sure what happened with Wells but MacKay is getting it done.

Jed MacKay's Black Cat rides again! The story's intriguing, the pace is exciting, the art is tight, and my God, I could eat every line of dialogue with a spoon. I love this. That's completely subjective, but I think there's a hell of a lot of objective quality here, too. I'm suddenly a lot less frustrated with ASM/Zeb Wells dragging their feet in revealing MJ's Deal if Jed MacKay gets to do it here instead.

The whole Dark Web thing is a dumpster fire, but I always like seeing these two together. I'm not sure about giving Mary Jane powers. I would have preferred to have her go through training to be a fighter and maybe get some tech from Tony. Instead, they took a famous line of hers and turned it into mutant powers. Not sure I'm a fan of that.

It's not bad but not great either. Jed McKay has to continuously ask through Felicia as to why we're back to this nonsense after much previous development. I get it but detracts from the story for me. This just shows that editorial doesn't know where to go and we have to build only to destroy in order to sell books because Dark Web had to happen no matter what whether there is any common sense in or not. This tracks perfectly along the whole flimsy Dark Web event so far. I hope we get past this event and develop a proper story for this team-up.

One of the stronger issues of Dark Web, which really isn't saying much. McKay makes chicken salad out of a chicken shit idea.
