However, even Williamson has Lois give a meta acknowledgement to these events and that manages to keep it from being a glaring trope. The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge
Jul 23, 2025While the issue works hard and fast on a lot of these big idea things and delivers it all in a fairly neat bow so that it can move forward, we do get some character time as well. I'm amused at the start with Jimmy back at the Planet and Lois trying to adjust to just editing again, and having to try and fend off Siobahn, who has a real hate toward Superwoman now. But we do get Lois meeting up with Clark later to catch up on things and see that her worry isn't about her lack of powers, but that Clark may not like her as much since he can't be his "true self" with her anymore. It's pretty standard stuff and a familiar worry, but Clark does handle it in the right way that resonates as being his authentic self. He fell for her long before she had any powers, and is going to be in love with her for a long time afterward. It's a good reinforcement to have. Read Full Review

Supergirl Comic Box Commentary - Anj
Jun 27, 2025Perhaps it was a bit of a ruse. As soon as he learns about Booster, he breaks the chains and takes off. (Nice splash by Izaaske.) And he says he needs to find the World Forger, the Monitor's brother, perhaps hinting at an upcoming Crisis? An Absolute Crisis? That was a lot of stuff packed into the issue. But it sure did feel like the closing of a big chapter for Superman with a whole new plot coming around. While I think Pharm/Graft had run their course, some of the other plots - Lex, Siobhan, Marilyn Moonlight - I think I wish we had more of. Read Full Review

Another good issue. I like that he's closing up the story of Super Corp and Superwoman. I wasn't a fan of Lois having powers to begin with. I am confused about Zod, however. Aren't they his powers that were lost? Wasn't he on his way to Earth in the last issue? I was really hoping for a battle with Zod to close the story up. But I guess that's not going to happen. This series is hands down the best work Williamson has ever done and is far and away one of the best ongoing series in comics. I generally find Williamson struggles with hand wavy resolutions to his plot lines but felt he executed all these conclusions tightly while feeling natural. Nice to have these stories wrap up while he still has more to come.

This was okay end to the mediocre arc, the highlights have been Lex Luthor honestly Im more interested in what Joshua Williams has planned for his development. Otherwise I'm not that excited for the coming Legion and it feels like I'm having a hard time caring about most of the characters now. Hopefully next ish will regain some focus on Superman and bring some kind of meaningful stakes. If not than it's most likely Luthor taking the spotlight again. The other good thing is Superwoman is done that was cringe.
