A wonderfully fun book with great characters, great artwork and great dialogue. Whatever you thought this book would be, it isn't. Yara Flor, the newest Wonder Woman, protects the Amazonian Rainforests with a little help from the other mythical and mystical creatures of the forest. But, a trip to Hades was never going to be a smooth ride, was it? Read Full Review

Comic Crusaders - Johnny "The Machine" Hughes Jan 5, 2021

When the idea of new characters replacing existing ones, I admit, i was pretty much against it. Bruce Wayne is my Batman; Diana is my Wonder Woman. However with Future State and the idea of both new and existing characters being around, I promised myself that I would keep an open mind. I am glad I did as this book has exceeded all of my previous expectations. Read Full Review

    Kabooooom - Matt Morrison Jan 5, 2021

Unlike most of the Future State books so far, Future State: Wonder Woman proves optimistic and easily accessible to new readers, being a fresh start rather than a continuation of another story. Yara Flor is an engaging heroine and it is easy to see why The CW has already expressed an interest in a television series centered around her based on her first appearance here. With fantastic artwork and a solid story, this isn't just a must-read for Wonder Woman fans; it's a must read for every comic reader. Read Full Review

    Major Spoilers - Ingrid Lind-Jahn Jan 8, 2021

Future State: Wonder Woman #1 throws us right into the story with a deftly handled blend of narration, action, and humor. It's clear from the get-go that this is a different Wonder Woman with her own background, but it is also clear that she, in her own way, is up to the name. This is a terrific book. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Kellie Keener Jan 6, 2021

While Future State: Wonder Woman is only a two-issue mini-series, Jones tweeted in November of 2020 that Yara Flor would be returning after the Future State event ends. And according to DC Comics own blog, the CW is developing a Wonder Girl live-action series that would star a younger Yara Flor, before she took the mantle of Wonder Woman. Jump into Future State: Wonder Woman #1 and get a head start on learning all about Yara Flor.  Read Full Review

Future State Wonder Woman is one of the stronger titles from the Future State line so far. It feels the most complete as everything is simply explained and shown within the first few panels. This simplicity and break down of the mythos of Wonder Woman allows any and all to join in with little fears of getting lost. Read Full Review

Future State: Wonder Woman is off to a strong start. Joelle Jones quickly establishes this series as one of the standouts of DC Comics' Future State direction. Jones does a wonderful job with balancing out the way the story unfolds both through the writing and visually. The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge Dec 22, 2021

I really had a lot of fun with this across the board. Joelle Jones introduces us to something unexpected and different while still feeling like something familiar. You do fill in a few blanks on your own with a touch of imagination, but what she delivers with the characters and settings makes for a really engaging experience. I absolutely love the artwork and designs and Bellaire's color work is just fantastic in capturing the costume itself for her but also the places where they travel within the issue. It's the kind of project where if it connects for you like it does with me, you just want to have a lot more of it to see how far it can be taken. Really good stuff here. Read Full Review

Future State: Wonder Woman #1 is just a solid comic. There's good action. There's great dialogue. It's a debut that has me wanting to come back and check out more. It also has done Yara Flor justice and had the character put her best foot forward in a pretty anticipated debut. By the end, I not only wanted to read the second issue but also want to see where Flor's journey through the DC Universe goes from here. Read Full Review

Weird Science - Gabe Hernandez Jan 5, 2021

Future State: Wonder Woman #1 ain't your grandmother's Wonder Woman. The main character is stunning and exudes a gruff charm, but her moral flaws work against the nature of what we've always known as the Wonder Woman character. At the very least, I'm very interested to see what they can do with this character in the very short time Future State is in effect. Read Full Review
