Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield Jun 11, 2025

Aquaman's adventures mostly seem to be apart from the main DCU at this point, and I think this title is better for it. The character really shines when he's doing things that only he can do and exploring new realms deep below the waves. Read Full Review

Aquaman #6 is a richly layered, myth-soaked chapter that propels both its hero and the DCU closer to a breaking point. With a legendary weapon in hand and war on the horizon, Aquaman is ready to fight for his kingdom…but the deeper question is whether his kingdom still remembers him as king. The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge Jul 16, 2025

Aquaman doesn't get any new answers here, he just gets slowly closer to Mera and his people. It's standard journey material, but it's a fun group of people he's with since they all feel like such unknowns at this point. Vivienne feels like the biggest wildcard at this point that I don't trust, however. The book moves things along well so that we understand more of how Dagon operates, the chaos he's caused in the Blue, and see more of how this group operates with Aquaman. The artwork is the biggest draw here as Shefler really stands out with the designs and layouts, particularly with some beautiful color work brought to it. Read Full Review

An Aquaman title that isn't afraid to be equal parts daring, goofy, and mysterious. Read Full Review

Did not like this issue, felt like it was such a drag to read. How powerful is Dagon to just destroy mythical aquatic gods?

    I like the art though.

I do still like the art, and the colors have always been solid and fit for the vibe of the folklore/epic of this Aquaman.

As someone who has been enjoying this run, I admit I am getting a bit tired of this

The characters around Arthur don't seem to have anything important to do. 6 issues in and no telling where the hell Arthur's family is. It felt like a pit stop issue, like "we need gas to go further on our journey"

Last issue, we got a sign where Mera is, but that's all

And the random structure(cask of capture) and playing it out to hold some crazy weapon the gods were afraid of that can clear out all these infected zombies, just for it to be a Wonder Twin felt like a quick cop out and surprise more

Though I love Jeremy Adams, this is not my Aquaman. I know many people like this version that leans more toward the Absolute universe. There really hasn't been any movement on this story. Arthur is no closer to finding Mera and Atlantis than he was in issue 1. Now we have Gods being turned into Zombies and the appearance of a Wonder Twin. Come on. I still don't know why Nemo is piloting the Nautilus alone. Makes no sense. I gave this 6 issues. So, this is a drop for me. Sorry, Jeremy.

    "we'll never outrun it!"

"we don't have to outrun it, we have to outswim it!"

    *next pannel*

    "boy i sure am sore!"

some of the worst dialogue i have read in any comic ever. also would have been nice if they had invested more time into the original characters of the gods and not lame ass nemo. like they genuinely made some wildly interested characters and settled for using them as a prop to continue to let nemo toot around in his tiny because arthur is unable to follow google maps, apparently.
