Well said! Jed MacKay is a terrible writer running on his Moon knight and Black Cat run. But between this and Avengers he is not impressive at all. Kudos to you for getting this far with Xmen, I dumped this few issues ago

X-Men Issue 13 maintains the intensity. The battle on Thundercloud has not stopped yet, and neither side is ready to back down. X-Men #13 brings the first battle to take custody of Charles Xavier to a close when a new challenger steps into the ring. Jed MacKay's script delivers plenty of fast-paced action and excitement, and Netho Diaz's art style hits the bullseye. That said, you'll be lost if you don't read the connecting issues (some already slated for cancellation), and the setup for the rest of the crossover appears to be more forced fights to fill page space. I think this was my favorite issue of Jed Mackay's X-Men run so far.
What impressed me this time is the way nearly the entire cast got to contribute, with the exception of Cyclops, who remained out of commission after the beatdown he took last week in Storm. Magik did the most, which makes me happy, Temper and Juggernaught each got moments, this was a big issues for Quentin, and Psylocke got a big moment at the resolution.
The moment with Magik and Magneto was also hilarious.
There was something cathartic about seeing the X-Men stand up to and equal one of the so-called "omega-level" mutants, especially one who has the added boost of being powered by Eternity. A bit of an aside, what's the point of getting more

Though the whole X-Manhunt story isn't working for me, McKay finally has a solid voice and feel for the characters which really elevated my enjoyment while not caring much for the over arching story.
All the woke X-shills that haven't read a comic before 2022 will surely give this issue a ten. I I wonder though how other X-Men fans of 30+ years see it. To me it seems like this is the culmination of all the weird bullsh*t that has plagued the X-books since Jonathan Hickman left the line: questionable ideologies, psychopathic behavior celebrated as being heroic, former heroes getting the villain treatment and characters unrecognizable to any old-time reader. All this wrapped up in shoddy dialogue and bad art. This book is not only a low point in X-history, it's a disgrace and it hurts my soul.
The second point is for the colorist. At least one person on this book did their job.
