A Dark Crisis tie-in: the search for Barry Allen! With the Justice League gone, Wally gathers the entire Flash Family in a desperate attempt to search the Speed Force and finally locate the missing Barry Allen. But does Barry want to be found? This three-issue story ties directly into this summer's event. Dark Crisis continues here!
Another great issue. Though technically a Dark Crisis tie-in, its not really, its just a solid Flash family story that started well and has a whole lot of promise down the road. Read Full Review
The Flash #738 is a perfect example of why the fastest man alive has always been one of my favorite heroes. I love science-fiction stories involving parallel universes, and the Flash has always been DC's premier Multiversal traveler. So, I've been waiting to see Adams exploring that side of the character. If this opening chapter is any indication, then this story will be all that I've been hoping for. Read Full Review
THE FLASH #783 showcases all the key elements that have made Adams' FLASH one of the best monthly books at DC COMICS over the past year. No, THE FLASH #783 isn't really a DARK CRISIS tie-in. So, don't read it for that at all. However, I couldn't recommend this issue or series enough. Read Full Review
You're definitely going to want to grab this book! Actually, scratch that, you're definitely going to NEED to grab this book. It's a vital part of this summer's most exciting story, and oh yeah, it's really great!! Read Full Review
The Flash #783 is an exciting first issue in a new story arc that takes big swings and feels like an event-caliber book on its own. The fact that it ties into DC Comics' big summer event Dark Crisis is only icing on the cake. The Flash is delivering an adventure that doesn't hold back and is delivering excitement. Navigating Dark Crisis has been tough for many writers, but Adams was up to the challenge. In the process, he continued his hot streak and solidly places The Flash as one of the elite DC books. Read Full Review
This is one of the most lived-in books in the DCU right now, and it really shows in this tie-in. Read Full Review
Comic book crossovers are sometimes something that a reader has to put up with when it comes to titles that they are following, as they can completely divert a story that was in the works for a certain hero. Luckily, such isn't the case with The Flash and Dark Crisis, as the latest issue is able to really play on the strengths of not just Wally West, but the Flash Family as a whole while Barry is bouncing around the multiverse. We've got multiple speedsters in the Flash Family traveling the Omniverse looking for Barry Allen and with that, we're going to have some Multiversal Madness, DC style as we see different versions of our Scarlet Speedster as our heroes try to bring Barry home. We've got great art and a fun story, but I just wish that Wally's kids didn't have to be the trouble-makers they are because we have enough problems without them making things worse right now by being brats. The Flash #783 needs a run-up to build excitement. The beginning of this new arc threatened to zap the momentum right from the get-go, from a start that could feel overly filled with exposition. Once the mission unfolds and that sense of adventure starts, the energy sizzles through the comic. Read Full Review
Nahuelpan delivers some great art in the issue. I like the different styles and the contrast between the real world and the idealized world that Barry is trapped in. Read Full Review
Another good issue for the series that isn't weighed down too much by being a tie-in with Dark Crisis. This mainly acts as a setup issue that provides three intriguing scenarios in three, respective, different worlds/realities. The first sees the two kids seemingly moments away from being confronted by a Flash-themed villain, the second puts the two speedsters (who I forget the names of at this time) set in what looks like a Mad Max world, and the third puts Wally and Ace in a classic comic reality. Good stuff.
Super fun stuff, I absolutely love the direction this tie in is going
I love benday dots and I love pre-digital coloring. If the comic uses those two things in its art, I'm on board.
Flash continues to be great, and this event is a blessing and a curse for this book: we derail the plot once more for an event, but hopefully this will reward the series in the long run with some character development and increased reader-ship.
Meddling kids gonna meddle, but I like the twins and I'm excited to see each of the alternate goose chases. The Earth-Flash sequence was without a doubt the best thing about this issue (mainly because of the art). I love Pasarin, but Nahuelpan knocks it out of the park.
Based on the first page flash-forward, I wonder if that will truly be thawne/zolomon, or more
Actually, nothing happens
