I also liked the foreshadowing that Qi'ra's Crimson Reign is going to end in tragedy. As to how it will all play out remains to be seen. But if this opener is anything to go by. S### is going to kick off. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge Mar 1, 2022

I'm really curious to see where Soule and the property go with Qi'ra because the potential is there but at the same time some of this feels like an overstep. I really wish more time had been used to seed the character in the Age of Rebellion period than just the sprawling crossover storyline because it didn't serve the character or the organization well. That said, Soule has four more issues from which to tell this flashback tale and it definitely has the potential of doing some interesting things. Star Wars: Crimson Reign #1 is a natural follow on to the recent ‘War of the Bounty Hunters' series. And it gives more of an insight into Qi'ra and her role in charge of Crimson Dawn. The sheer magnitude of her manipulation reaches to every corner of the galaxy but will she come undone going up against the Empire? Charles Soule has started off on the right foot with this book and it will be interesting to see how it develops throughout the upcoming issues. Star Wars fans will certainly enjoy the newest instalment. Read Full Review

With this being the first issue of an event series, and with it exploring how one organization featuring characters from a variety of backgrounds are traveling across the galaxy, it's an overwhelming issue full of exposition and introductions, all in hopes of setting the stage for the rise and potential fall of Qi'ra. I wouldnt really recommend this to the more casual Star Wars fan or someone just wanting to jump in and out of a storyline and pick up the occasional issue. This would be an ideal series to read the collected edition of or the digital only version if you have the subscription. Read Full Review
