The books I really like always end quickly.

Very good but still too few pages for the price of the book.

It's a shame this book is coming to an end. The good books NEVER last long nowadays....

I'm conflicted giving this such a low rating but I was not very impressed with Spawn being introduced into the book. The character's experience with otherworldly entities was not reflected at all.

I just wish the stories were longer

I'm getting pretty tired of reading what is essentially the same storyline over and over when it comes to X-Men comics. I'm a longtime X-Men fan and I absolutely love the characters -- and always will. I still read the comics because I still love the characters but the storylines are getting to be so insanely repetitive.

Another mutant genocide? Just another day in the office for the X-Men. Because we've seen it so much, the word "genocide" doesn't have the same weight that it definitely should. House of X, Genosha, the OG Mutant Massacre, Inhumans v. X-Men -- they're all fundamentally the same. I feel like the authors just pop in another "genocide" storyline when they don't know what else to write about. Other comics have interesting, heart-felt storylines that don't revolve around an entire population suddenly dying. I feel like that's not too much to ask for, right? Just some decent characterization instead of cheap gimmicks?

And don't even get me started on Jean's death. Why do they keep killing this woman? Hasn't she died enough at this point? Instead of making her a symbolic, overly righteous martyr, can we get back to making her a real person? She's a complex character, with both light and dark inside of her yet we haven't seen that characterization in YEARS. She's just there to act as this (in Emma's words) sacrificial cow to serve the writers' death-fueled desires. It's ridiculous and sad. She deserves more than this.

I will say, the art in this issue is beautiful and deserves kudos. That's mostly why I'm not giving it a worse rating. I really wouldn't recommend this comic or any other X-Men comics for the time being. Powers of X really reset things for the X-Men and it made me excited to read them again. But they've just changed the setting without changing the story. You can read any X-Men comic from the last ten years and it'll be pretty close to the stuff coming out today. I really hope that things change but I'm wary that they will. I guess we'll just have to see if Marvel can find some writers who are more creative and actually want to make something out of these characters. Until then, it'll just be bloodbath after bloodbath.

Thought I'd read this as part of the X-Men come back for me and immediately I'm like alright I'm out again. It's crazy how bad marvel fumbled the bag with this era that Hickman set up. I understand that they wanted to stay in the krakoa era longer than intended, but everything Hickman set up feels like it's completely buried or wasn't followed up in a satisfying way since he left. It feels like he gave them notes and the writers just took them way too literally or just used them as a guide instead of the natural story. Moira is out of character; this fall of X doesn't feel deserved even though the krakoa era was extended longer than intended. It just feels SO rushed. It's such a shame because if you re read all the Hickman stuff and some of the Gillen stuff, you can see grand ideas, but it feels like those are being shelved for essentially the extinction storyline again. Before people say ya but they can bring them back and itll be different, EVERYONE knows that. It's just why waste time with the extinction storyline yet AGAIN when we already know the outcome. Remember when Hickman's tagline when he came on was evolution. This book just shows how everything with the X-Men will always come back to them being put down to near extinction. Seeing Krakoa be an actual nation and powerful was the premise that should have been the status quo for at least 10 years; but here we are where the mutants are at their worst yet again. And they'll save themselves yet again, and they'll be brought down yet again. It's just exhausting to me more

What took you so long boy?

Killadelphia comes highly recommended by a couple of sources I highly respect in comics Twitter and Youtube. Unfortunately, I was drunk while reading the book and didn't get the comic at all. I reread the book today and it was so good I actually reconsidered alcoholism.

Killadelphia follows Jim Sangster, Jr., a man walking in the footsteps of his father, literally and figuratively. After his father dies under mysterious circumstances Jim finds his father's journal and discovers an entirely new mystery. The plot apparently involves John Adams and a sect of vampires operating in the shadows of Philidelphia.


The art direction and tone of the issue are deeply atmospheric which is a credit to Jason and Luis. Most of the linework and colors have a dreamlike quality and it calls into question if the events described are even real.

The writing is also top-notch. At the time of review, Killadelphia has been optioned as a streaming series, and it's pretty easy to see why. This particular story would translate well on Netflix or even as a feature-length film based on the first issue alone.


Further discussion would get into spoiler territory so I'll hold back. The issue is solid especially if you're a fan of horror or crime drama. Killadelphia is a must-read. more

The fallout from the Department of Truth failing its mission.....

The first 30 issues piqued my curiosity....NOW Killadelphia has my attention. Best issue of 2023 so far. I will definitely get the variants.

Quick read but good read. The art is stunning as always and the story finally gives us what we've been waiting for, THE BIG FIGHT! Big fun magic battles and heart warming friendships torn asunder. Great stuff.

How is this series not getting more run. Easily, the best Marvel series going. Ramos’ artwork is on point. The cliffhanger ending was great. I’m crossing my fingers for a 2nd year at the Academy.

I can't believe I'm saying this but it was a bit underwhelming.

Art looks good but this run has been terrible, the minute T'challa said "I live for this" I knew BP fans were in trouble and I guess I was right John Ridley cannot write BP to save his life. Everything about this run from the action to the dialog makes 0 sense

My issue with this run is the lack of respect for t’challa. This story loves wakanda and it’s people, yet our boi has to be humiliated every step of the way.

Ridley should be ashamed of himself. He has officially lost his Black card. This run was the WORST Black Panther run ever!! So now Wakanda has no king/queen, now are allied with the same man who flooded and sent Thanos' henchman to burn it to the ground on a lie and as the cherry on the top, is being run by all the women like its Biden's administration. Thousands of years of tradition is supposed to be gone in a few months?!? This shit is why I'm reading less and less of Marvel and just reading strictly independent publishers. more

Sorry, I don't like what Ridley is doing here. T'Challa is like Daredevil now, always whining and complaining how he is a total fuck up. Plus, Cap is THE LAST person that should stand in judgment over T'Challa. This series has been lackluster at best. Coates' run was better than this!!!

Just like The Ultimates (Blue Marvel team) this book & Strange Academy before it, is the most slept on right now.

I'm so glad they did this.
