Everything Dick Grayson has built is crumbling around him. His life is spiraling out of control and Heartless is at the center of all of it. Now Nightwing must leave his city. Can he take back the power he's lost? Or will Bludhaven and its citizens be lost to Heartless forever?
Taylor sets up a pretty creative cliffhanger that returns the favor from over a decade ago and it's a fun nod to old DC continuity. Nightwing #116 delivered as one of the week's best pick-ups. Read Full Review
After two issues of build up we get really into the meat of the "Fallen Grayson story arc. Read Full Review
This is the kind of final arc that books have to earn, with Taylor having years of buildup to get to this point. It just might be the best run this character has ever had. Read Full Review
Nightwing #116 is a testament to Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo's combined prowess, delivering a compelling, beautifully rendered chapter in Nightwing's saga. The issue's ability to balance intense action, emotional depth, and a touch of humor makes it a standout. As the final arc unfolds, the stakes have never been higher for Dick Grayson, promising an epic conclusion. Read Full Review
Nightwing #116 is easily the best of the "Fallen Grayson arc so far. Taylor's script pulls in so many elements from the entire run that it makes the noose Heartless is tightening around Dick's neck believable and extremely intense. How WILL he get out of it? There are some great character moments in cameo's by the Bat-family and the Titans that remind the reader of how Dick is perceived by the superhero community. But, it all seems to pale in comparison to the surprise ending. The next issue will be something no one's ever seen before. We are adding an extra 1/4 to the score (4.75)extrapolated, this is a 9.5/10. Read Full Review

Well, for fans of Nightwing and those invested in the ongoing Bldhaven storyline, this issue is a must-read. It delivers a turning point for the character, showcasing his resilience in the face of adversity. However, readers unfamiliar with the recent arc might find themselves lost. Overall, Nightwing #116 is a well-written and suspenseful chapter in the Nightwing saga, with a desperate hero facing a city's destruction and a shocking revelation. Pick it up if you're a Nightwing fan who has been following the Bldhaven storyline. If you're new to this arc, you might want to start from a few issues back. Read Full Review
It's an interesting choice to put action on the backburner in this final arc, given Redondo's best when he's able to flex his artistic muscle with larger than life set pieces. Still, Taylor knows how to beat the hell out of Dick Grayson, and he's making sure ol' Nightwing gets put through the wringer one last time. Read Full Review
Overall my quibbles with this issue were big to me but still personal. Things like Dick's escape and Bruce's suggestions are really minor compared to the overall story. I think there were stronger ways to write this issue, but they don't detract too much from the idea of this issue. Read Full Review
Overall, this is a good issue to read, but a pain to think about at length. In spite of the circumstances, I don't think Grayson's choice makes sense. His choice to let Heartless bully him feels like an option he didn't have to choose. Admittedly, Tom Taylor effectively frames him in the media, but neglects to give the hero good options to defend himself. Especially when the villain steals his identity and threatens child murder in his name. Although at this point, propaganda is the biggest supervillain in DC Comics right now (see Beast World, Tom King's Wonder Woman, and Absolute Power!) It is a shame because I think each part of this hero's journey, smear campaign, and subsequent climb works in isolation. Despite not buying his rock bottom, I'm already enjoying the climb back. Nightwing #116 is a good issue, but it struggles to persevere over pacing and narrative choices that make the story start strong and falter in the end. Read Full Review
Nightwing #116 is a mediocre, lazy, action-free issue that tries to explain why Nightwing's lack of effort to capture Heartless was really part of some master plan (that nobody will believe). The art is serviceable, and I'm at least thankful the series is moving toward closure, but this title is going to go down as a series of wasted opportunities and missteps. Read Full Review
Nice plot twist in the end. The art is amazing as usual.
Last page is an interesting idea, but I can see it happening. Heartless really does have Nightwing in a predicament. I’m enjoying the journey.
I think the retcon with Deadman is silly (although I'm not even sure it is a retcon, let me know) and I think Batman being Nightwing is silly. But I am awash with the sense that things are happening. That forward momentum is, in fact, real. And it's making me less curmudgeonly.
A great plot twist that has Batman stepping up to be Nightwing, similar to how Nightwing stepped up to be Batman. Also solid art and good pacing
What happened to the dog?
Bruce Wayne is Batman, not Nightwing.
Horrible issue and batman shouldn't be nightwing!
