No, just no. Chip actually did a decent Bat story last issue, but ruins it by bringing up Bruce’s long lost “brother” from Snyder’s court of Owls thing. It was a bad idea a decade ago. It was a bad idea in 1973 when Bob Haney wrote Bat-crap crazy stories in Brave and Bold. The stories had no impact on main continuity and ought to be considered alternate universe.

Points for finally killing the mayor. Points taken away for the Riddler being free on a technicality. He has committed so many crime he would have to be free on 123,865 technicalities.

And Bruce finally gets his money back only to be sued by “bro.” Thomas Wayne and wife Martha having a kid is front page news. The pregnancy is front page news. There is no way a secret child is possible. If you want people to believe in Lazarus pits and Manbats, you have to keep the real world details real, otherwise you create a world where there is no anchor for the reader to latch onto.

Absolutely stunned how this garbage gets even decent reviews. It sucks the art is horrible, Harleys face is atrocious. Theres nothing to like here whatsoever.

I think at this point this title needs a fresh writer,chip is not a bad writer by any means but clearly he can't win over fans anymore and this title has been massacred by fans and critics ever since the first failsafe arc form issues 125 to 130 ended.

Just think about what CIA's Tom King would put there.
The CIA looks at law and wipes its feet on it. So that's the values you will be reading.
So murder? Hey, that's OK with the CIA.
Just remember it is all one big fake-out in this one big, long "imaginary" story.

But it also says everything you need to know about values of DC Comics that they published

Probably the best issue in zdarskys run since issue 129 imo. Very solid.

Bit disappointing tbh, really wanted to pull this main book n give a marvel event a try.

Normally not a huge fan of the imps but when u have a writer who knows how to write and a brilliant artist, it works out quite well.

First supes book in a while, full of action, characters and the art is sublime.

Solid interesting opening issue.
