It's a visually stunning comic that's bogged down by a slow, ponderous plot and dialogue that is more philosophical than functional. While the art is beautiful, it's not enough to save a comic that reads more like a a philosophy paper than a compelling story. Another incredible issue of this incredible series. I never thought I'd ever enjoy a Wonder Woman book this much (or really any non-Batman DC book.) Impeccable writing, beautiful art, compelling story, this has it all.

Man Wonder Woman just rules in this run. Her characterization is incredible and she is a force of will and personality. When many of the other absolute heroes are mopey or angsty in their situations, she cannot be broken. Can't wait for the conclusion of this arc

Yet another fantastic issue. SPOILERS Diana finally locates the Amazon she was seeking -and it is none other than Io! One of the interesting differences between AB WW and Diana in the regular DCU is that regular Diana is usaully presented as a very tall woman but not necessarily remarkably so. AB WW is almost a giantess, and this is borne out by the fact she is at least as tall as Io, an Amazon known for her size and strength in the regular universe. The two Amazons have a memorable, if muted, reunion and Diana has her hopes for the nobility of her people confirmed when she realizes that Io, who is leading a group of survivors in the Maze, could ahve escaped by herself long before but refused to abandon her friends. This book continues to be so damn good. My favorite issue since the outstanding fifth one. Both Thompson and Sherman are just killing it on this series. Really loved Diana's characterization here, once again. Furthermore, Sherman has been doing some really nice panelling over the course of the series, and it doesn't stop here. Also, of course, super glad to see that Ferdinand is okay.

Another winning chapter that brings us everything we love about Absolute Diana, both past and present, in ways that far outshine her characterization in her regular monthly DCU title by Tom King. This title has been stellar for almost a full-year so far. Kudos to this creative team as they wrap up the maze storyline next month.

It's sad that we have to buy an elseworlds title to get a decent WW story. And Kelly Thompson as the writer, who would have thunk it. I read every issue of her Capt. Marvel run, and they were mediocre at best. I think she connects with WW with or without being raised in Hell. I believe it was Greg Rucka who created Ferdinand.
