Moon Knight has been one of Marvel's top comic books since this amazing team took over, and that doesn't look to be changing in 2024. Read Full Review
While this book would benefit from the history of the previous run, it does a captivating job of recounting the core emotional beats, making it new reader-friendly. Fans of the mystical and street-level corners of the Marvel Universe will want to add this to their pull list immediately as it delivers on both, showcasing what makes the pocket some of the most fertile ground in Big Two storytelling. Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1 is the perfect sampler for the previous volume of the series while propelling the story and craft to new depths. Read Full Review

Marc Spector's death at the hands of Black Spectre in the last issue of Moon Knight have set the stage for a new era at the Midnight Mission, and it raises fascinating questions in ways that make me want to know what happens next. Good stuff. Read Full Review
Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1 is a solid opening issue putting the supporting characters of the previous series front and center (even doing a bit of what I refer to as the Leverage strut) while also throwing in some bigger name cameos as well. Read Full Review
Vengeance Of The Moon Knight #1 has one big wow moment that matters (the “new” Moon Knight in a new costume), but the issue is largely a waste to get to the last page. Unless you have a deep need to know how Reese and Tigra are dealing with their grief, you could skip this issue and not miss anything. Recommended for speculators only for the new costume reveal. So happy this creative team gets to keep doing their thing with Moon Knight.
A great debut issue for the continuation of a series I really loved. One thing I pointed out in at least one review for an issue of the previous series was that MacKay did a fantastic job of building the supporting cast that surrounds Marc Spector. This issue is a really good example of that paying off, as it was easy for me to get invested in the story throughout this book, even without Marc or the new Moon Knight being shown very much. I'm really looking forward to seeing where this story goes. Also, I can't finish this review without mentioning how awesome Cappuccio's art is. What I'm about to say is not to say his art was bad in the last series whatsoever, because it was gorgeous. However, I looked at the first few pages of the last Moomore
I don’t think I ever reviewed an issue of the Moon Knight run that preceded this but it was likely my favourite comic. Dependable, rich, and involving.
Vengeance issue one takes time to look at the supporting cast and prepares us for a shake up for the titular character. It works well and provides a nice emotional connection that will no doubt be tested over the coming months.
A solid issue. I like the midnight mission and Hunters moon and this idea of crazy moon knight. I will say this though. I really normally don't mind relaunches, especially when new teams take over, but why relaunch this if it literally picks up right where the last series ended.
Jed MacKay and Alessandro Cappuccio don’t waste time dwelling on the absence of Marc Spector in their new follow-up series. Instead, Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1 throws us headfirst into the aftermath of his death with a touching first act focusing on the Shiva organized by the remaining members of the Midnight Mission. We see them grapple with grief and uncertainty while trying to maintain their mission's purpose. Reese takes focus and we get to see her raw and emotional, showcasing the toll that the aftermath has taken on her, with a final twist that may or may not come as a surprise to most readers. This was a thrilling and emotional first chapter in this new arc and shows the Moon Knight story still room to grow, with or without Mamore
The Moon Knight creative team returns, but I am not sure where this is going. Reese visits a psychologist, which weaves through the story. Then we get this odd Shiva scene. Is Spector really Jewish? I'm not sure how he can be when he literally serves a god. Later in the issue, Hunter's Moon dispels two demons with the ankh showing that Konshu is indeed a religion. So, that entire scene was lost on me. I did like the scene with Tigra going feral. Let's see where it goes.
