X-Men #29 takes this series and arc to the next level and does so with an insanely creative story. The consequences are high as the X-Men start to make their comeback and this builds an immense amount of anticipation. The excitement for what will come next really grabs you and makes you want the next issue now. If you haven’t been reading this arc you are definitely missing out on something great. X-Men #29 juggles emotional stakes and a pair of dueling storylines, as the mutant team deals with the fallout of the Danger Room's attack. It also sets the stage for a hell of a final showdown. Read Full Review

A great set up for what could be a phenomenal end to this mini story! So many plot lines I want to see play out and so many stories that can grow from this. A textbook X-Men story and issue. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge

This storyline overall has been a lot of fun, and has a bit more to go, as I like the idea of the Danger Room concept being used against the team. It’s showing how they’re all reacting in different ways, and who is definitely failing as well. This one is a bit light on certain pieces from the past issue or two, but I like the focus on Xorn and Kwannon with Greycrow, and getting back to Beast a bit helped as well. Watching Timber and Kid Omega is probably the most disappointing them, but you have to have characters fail, and the shooting of Glob would certainly push the younger members like this more easily. Comic Watch - Jamison Nilsson

By the last page, X-Men #29, and honestly, the whole Danger Room story arc so far has felt like, at best, amateur fan fiction inspired by older X-Men storylines. There is a hint of substance to the writing; some scenes try to set up a meaningful narrative, but none of it ever comes together into something that the reader is actually supposed to care about. It is saying the same thing as any X-Men story about being the outcasts, but in a way that lacks the nuance that has defined X-Men in the past. Read Full Review

The danger room story has not been good. But it’s one of the better of the X-men storylines in a while. But I’ll repeat. It’s not good. And X-men has been better than what Gail is doing. Here we get another part in the danger room storyline. I’ll leave it at this- This issue is nothing. It’s just a blah nothing issue. If you don’t buy it , you’ll miss nothing. Really a waste of pages.
