Rayner and Jordan start their new paths with varying success. Adams balances out the drama with well-timed humor. The art teams bring out the most form their respected tales. It’s a brand new day where everyone will be green with envy if they miss this! Read Full Review

Green Lantern #34 balances two different plotlines quite well and offers both lighthearted moments and mystery to Kyle, Odyssey, and Hal's stories. Read Full Review

We’ve seen several talented artists contribute to the series since the DC ALL In launch, but this new approach from the combined forces of Ig Guara and Montos felt a bit too cartoony in comparison to recent books. Read Full Review

The parallel storytelling in Green Lantern #34 lets Adams play both with serious and humorous tones throughout. Additionally, it’s nice to see the variety of characters. This particular issue possesses somewhat uneven art, but overall it’s a good continuation of the title’s ongoing storylines. Read Full Review

Comic Book Clique - Frank Jarome

Green Lantern #34 is ultimately an enjoyable issue that splits its time and focus between our two leads, which unfortunately means that each Lantern’s portion of the story ends even as it feels like it’s just getting started. Jeremy Adams is clearly building something big with the Hal Jordan story, while it’s harder to tell at this time where the Kyle Rayner half is headed. The two artists mesh together fairly well, with one coming across as slightly better than the other, and the coloring works to tie it all together. The end result is an enjoyable book that has a little bit of an identity crisis, which is personified in its two leads. Hopefully, in future issues, the creative team will get a little better handle on the “dual narrative” style so that the individual stories can feel a little more substantial and balanced than they do right now. Boy the art was all over the place in this one. Have to say that the few pages of Hal's story was far more interesting that the rest of the issue. Already tired of Odyssey.

I love Jeremy, but this book is honestly subpar. I'm not sure how long I'm going to continue it. We have the generic trope of a producer on the ropes hiring a person who has never acted before in a town full of struggling actors with years of experience. It was supposed to be funny, but not really. Then we have a weird scene with Hal and the reinvigorated Guardians.

What has happened to this book? Last issue’s #600 was underwhelming, but not bad by any means. However, this issue, which was supposed to feature Kyle in the spotlight, gives him 11 of 22 pages, with Hal getting the other half. Fair enough, as I’m still a Hal fan as well. But it gets worse from there…With a green golf club, followed by a sledgehammer, Kyle takes down a ferocious alien escapee who’s disrupting traffic and named Gridlock. Apparently, he was originally imprisoned after trying to destroy a planet’s core and after murdering a bunch of GLs; it took 10 to take him down. Kyle does it with a wink and a smirk. He then spends the rest of the issue in Odyssey’s acting job interview playing his own new gig: second banana.
