VRRRRROOOOOOMMMMMMMM! The Main Man’s back, baby! And his ride is a motorcycle that moves at the speed of sound, but only if that sound is a rippin’ guitar solo, and you better hop on before he leaves you in the dust with all the bastiches he’s fragged for money or convenience! The Eisner-nominated creative team that brought you a fantastic parable of adolescence in the Midwest, the story of an artist who embraces darkness a little too closely, and the tale of a gunslinger with too much grit to stay buried brings you a classic yarn spun in the star-kissed threads of the cosmic DC Universe. It’s a guts-soaked path from DC K.O. to the end of the more

Mar 18, 2026Lobo #1 understands exactly what makes the character work. It leans into absurd violence, grotesque alien chaos, and biting satire with complete confidence. Young writes Lobo with the perfect mix of swagger and scumbag charm, while Corona fills every page with wildly inventive alien designs and kinetic energy. The result is a comic that feels alive with attitude and imagination. It is not just about bringing Lobo back, it is about reminding readers why the character became iconic in the first place. Loud, grotesque, and packed with personality, this debut feels like a statement that DC’s Next Level line is ready to swing big. Read Full Review

Mar 18, 2026Lobo is at his ultraviolet best here, and Jorge Corona’s art is a little grittier than Young’s own, making him a great fit for the comic. We’re off to a strong start, and the hook at the end means the killing is just getting started. Read Full Review

Mar 18, 2026Lobo #1 is a savage return for the Main Man. It is violent, hilarious, weird, and packed with the kind of rowdy comic book energy that feels like a middle finger with perfect timing. If you love Lobo being Lobo, this one delivers. No fluff. No softening. No brakes. Just bastich behavior at full volume. Read Full Review

Mar 18, 2026I will say that this book can be a lot for some. There’s a lot of violence, a lot of dialogue, and, if you know anything about Lobo, you know his personality can be a lot. But I do encourage everyone to give this a shot. As one of DC’s new titles debuting as part of the Next Level era, Lobo does a fantastic job showing how different this moment is from All In. It’s a period of experimentation and risk, and if that’s what you’re looking for in a comic, do yourself a favor and pick up Lobo #1. Read Full Review

Weird Science - Gabe Hernandez
Mar 18, 2026Lobo #1: The explosive art and razor-sharp satire propel Lobo's mayhem into must-buy territory, where kinetic shadows and neon-drenched gore make every frag feel alive, while Young's dialogue delivers unfiltered hilarity that skewers antihero tropes with gleeful precision. Yet the origin-heavy flashback and minor pacing hiccups remind us even the Main Man occasionally indulges in self-indulgent rants, diluting pure forward thrust just enough to dock perfection. This issue earns a slot in your pull list if you crave Lobo's brand of cosmic anarchy; it delivers raw entertainment value that punches well above its violent weight.8.5/10We hope you found this article interesting. Mar 18, 2026Lobo #1 is a chaotic and gorgeous return for the character. While the “reality TV star” angle isn’t the most revolutionary concept, it provides a solid foundation for the creative team to go wild. It’s been far too long since we’ve seen the Main Man front and center in the DCU, and we’re stoked for his return. If you want a comic that doesn’t take itself too seriously but delivers top-tier visuals and “bastich”-filled dialogue, this is the one for your pull list. Read Full Review

Comic Book Clique - Abel Loza
Mar 19, 2026Lobo #1 boldly reintroduces the character in a way that defies convention. The premise—a Lobo reality show—is interesting enough for this new chapter of DC comics, post DC K.O. This series will not be for everyone, as the story is very meta and the art style is very punk, but if you are still on board after that, you will really enjoy this. Read Full Review

This issue was written by Skottie Young, who obviously has a firm grasp on what makes the character of Lobo tick. Lobo's character and eccentricities are here in full effect, you're getting the Lobo you've known and loved. This time around, Lobo is being picked to be part of a live television show about bounty hunters...anybody want to take a guess how this will go down? Corona does an amazing job with the art, I feel he was the perfect choice for this Lobo revival. His art is detailed, sketchy and loud, just like Lobo should be. So far so good, fantastic first issue.

The Lobo Cancellation Special was one of the funniest and best comics of all 2024. Hearing that we are now going to get another Lobo series had me excited. Lobo is a bit much at times but he’s always hilarious and absurd. Skottie young on this title gets the absurd part -mostly this plot but he misses the comedy that made the cancellation special so great. We get glimpses of it so maybe he can tweak this. Example -We start the book with Lobo on a bounty hunt. The Bar owner gets upset that Lobo parks next to a sign that reads “no parking”. Lobo rips off his arm and changes the sign to “Lobo parking “,Love it. However the rest is just stuff happening to push the story forward with none of the typical Lobo jokes that land. Good stuff. I rated all three of the Next Level launches from this week the same score, but I do think this might be my favorite of the group. I probably would have rated this higher, but I'm not the biggest fan of some of the humor throughout this. It seems like Young really likes those type of jokes where the sentence is overly long for comedic effect. I don't know if I explained that the best way, but the point is that some of the humor just didn't land for me, while other parts did. Corona's art was really nice throughout, though, and I do think this team on Lobo has potential. I also really like the concept of the mega corporation trying to cash in on antiheroes. Despite my issues with this book, I'm definitely still interested enough more
