The artwork is beautiful, and appropriate for this type of story which is all about Lovecraft looking back at his life...analyzing it before dying. Loved the imagery and the mood. Loved the details about Lovecraft's life....the letters he wrote, it's a comic that a Lovecraft fan will enjoy all the way.

It's a story about a bunch of racist friends getting together to call upon a God, to get some sort of blessing from him. They feel like they are the top of the top best of the best as far as humanity goes and everyone else is dirt, so expect a story where basically all the characters are deplorable, worth your hatred. So far, they are getting what's coming to them. It's a story with a very dark au ra to it. It feels EVIL, which is a good thing because it means that the writers and artists are doing a good job at transmitting a vibe. Looking forward to seeing where this ends. more

This series is purposely going for rule breaking, so do not expect a common comic book. It goes to the beat of its own verbose drum! Deadman and his companion child have to go to hell in search for answers, how to stop a demon that's killing spirits? It's a challenge to read but a beauty to look at for sure! It's a mish mash of religious ideals, some christian, some not so much...but it makes for an interesting hodge-pudge of a story! It kind of reminds me of what it felt like to read a Neil Gaiman Sandman comic! In other words, it's a comic made for those that enjoy both the lyrical and the visual side of reading comic books. Loving it. more

This series has been dealing with a very real issue all Puerto Ricans are dealing with: the struggle in seeing public beaches turned into tourist hotels and resorts, effectively taking the beaches from the people, who have always enjoyed them for free! Aside from that, it shows our culture and struggle from a realistic standpoint, it doesn't feel like a joke, which is always the danger when depict ing a culture. The struggle seen through these characters is real and the Beast of Boriken is a representation of the rage and anger Puerto Ricans feel. The beas is most certainly a form of poetic justice. I'm enjoying this series to the fullest, Daniel Irizarry's art is as detailed and beautiful to look at as always. Kudos to this creative team! more

I love the sweetness of the recent stories with the reunion of the whole turtle/rat/human family, and it's great to see the brothers finally getting along and learning to appreciate each other. This issue leaves us in a cliffhanger for the upcoming issue #300 which I absolutely cannot wait to see!

Dr. Doom deems Jay and Silent Bob as the biggest threat to his existence, so of course it's up to the entire Marvel Universe to protect them! This was an extremely fun one-shot! The art is awesome and the situations? Hilarious, I was literally laughing the whole way! I was like wow a COMIC book that is actually comic! As in funny! It made me think that maybe Kevin Smith is better at writing comic books than movies. Kevin Smith had the idea for this cross over since his Mallrats days, and it's finally here and it's worth the wait! more

This series keeps getting better with time. It feels like you are watching an episode of the Twilight Zone. This issue starts out giving Psycho vibes, but then goes directly into Twilight Zone territory. The artwork is amazing and the story has that Twilight Zone vibe to it, loved it. Keep it going IDW!

I think about it very carefully before buying a new comic because you know, I don't want to spend my hard end money on the crap, but I took a chance with this one because I glanced through the pages and was wowed by the atmospheric art by Matthew Roberts. Michael Chaves tells this tale in a very cinematic way, I'm really loving it because I grow tired of comic book stories and art that I can't und erstand. This one is told and drawn in such a way that becomes an interesting read. The little girl is looking for Joan of Arc, will she find her with her dad. more

Loving every second of this Twilight Zone inspired horror comic. Hyde Street is a place where these killers take care of evil souls...it's where you go to pay for your sins. But what happens when the mysterious butcher is killing all the killers on Hyde Street? I'm pulled in by this comic, love the art, the story, everything is pitch perfect, so many characters, so many different tales...I love al l the different directions the comic takes from issue to issue, yet one central storyline holds everything together in this strange and interesting world. Who is killing the killers? And why? The events on this particular issue where shocking to say the least! more

Loved this issue, it felt like a battle of the gods, with Superman going against Shazam, loved how it was one of those battles where they destroy the world as they fight. Also, saw a glimpse of Absolute Batman watching the fight from the background...I smell a crossover and this is extremely exciting! Great action filled issue.

I was a little let down to find out that the issue wasn't entirely drawn by Jorge Corona, instead they go into some flashback that switches artist...and the art is like this over simplified style that I dislike and sad part is that it goes on for most of the issue. Felt a bit like a filler issue...I hope it goes back to the gritty Corona style for the next one. I am enjoying the funny and biting s tyle of this comic. I hope next issue is better than this one which felt a bit like a "filler". more

Took a bit of getting used to, but I finally got to like this creative team. They got me with this issue which manages to unite the brothers and actually the entire family, in a very touching and exciting way. A story with lots of heart at its core. Kudos to the creative team, they had big shoes to fill, but they did an amazing job with this story. TMNT book is at my top of the must read list righ t now. more

Sad to see this one coming to an end...it is the best comic in the stands right now. The artwork by Javier Rodriguez makes me want to analyze each panel, study it. And the writing, well, it's touching upon some very real themes through its science fiction and surrealism. Why is the world so crazy? Why are we all at each others throats? And who is pulling our strings? Deep stuff! Can't wait to see how it all concludes on the next and final issue. Hoping this creative team return, on whatever book they want to return in. Highest possible recommendation!more

I'm enjoying this series a lot, Benjamin Percy has a lot to do with that, everything he writes he absolutely "gets", when he did Ghost Rider, he knew what Ghost Rider was really all about. And he is doing the same here, he is defining what makes The Punisher tick, why he is a killing machine. I like that he isn't making stupid excuses for what The Punisher is, pure violence. Loving this creative t eam, the artwork by Jose Luis Soares is amazing and a perfect fit for The Punisher. Looking forward to future issues! more

I didn't even make it through the title. Sometimes you really wonder who these comics are supposed to be written for.

Man, this new Doctor Strange is so disappointing. I have read Doctor Strange for years now, my favorite being the Chris Bachalo run by the way, but this new one is leaving me cold. The bland covers and artwork...the fact that Doctor Strange is not in New York just sucks...I mean, the whole thing feels like a Thor book instead of a Doctor Strange book. Strange was always about New York...this whole Asgard thing has got me all wishing Strange would already find his way back to the big apple. Thinking of dropping this one because the creative team is just not up to par...it's not wowing me, to be honest everything else that has come before it has been better. Marvel, you better make this book good again and fast! This is one of my favorite if not my favorite character and you've just destroyed any interest in it whatsoever...sad...Im buying for completion sake only. And even then...I'm thinking of dropping the book. more

Without a shadow of a doubt, the best comic book series I've read all year long. I love how it is so surreal and symbolic, it feels like a fever dream. I love how relevant it is, it speaks about america, and the way society is living right now, in a constant state of fear, paranoia and confusion. Amazing stuff, while keeping it all very human at the same time in relation to the story behind the ma in character and his family.

Overall, it feels a lot like a Japanese film from director Takashi Miike, called 'Visitor Q' (2001) which is about a god-like being, coming down to live with a family and serving as an observer of human behavior. Same thing happening here, but with the "Martian" serving as the god-like observer of human behavior, trying to understand why we are how we are and what makes us human. more

I have to give this one a ten, funny part is I wasn't thinking of adding another book to my list, but the artwork pulled me in when I gave it a glance and of course, just the fact that Kevin Smith is doing some of the writing. I artwork by Nick Pitarra is awesome, weird, strange and therefore perfect for a character who is by nature bizarre. Visually, it's a super interesting book to look at, espe cially when they go to the upside down version of Metropolis. I was pleasantly surprised by this issue and look forward to future issues.

It's amusing and I'm excited as the next guy to see Spidey and Supes have adventures together, and even though the artwork and colors are awesome I have to admit it feels totally pointless. You'd think uniting the two biggest characters of the two biggest comic book companies would give birth to something more memorable than a bunch of vignettes that go nowhere...quite honestly, some of then feel unfinished. The one highlight of this comic is seeing Jim Lee return to drawing one of the X-Men in a little story that has Mary Jane and Louis reminiscing about what it means to be the significant other of Spidey and Supes...it felt a little bit like 1993 all over again.

This is the first issue of this two issue crossover and it was done by DC. Let's hope that Marvel's issue is a little better, but I doubt it. Did I mention I hate these issues filled with pointless little ditties that go no where? Specially because they just do it to jack up the price? And I think I hit the nail on the head right there, though amusing to see Spidey swinging through the skies with Superman by his side...it all feels like a cash grab. Whatever happened to making an event matter? Shake the pillars of heaven next time guys! Make it worth our while and money!more

Joe Kelly must have given just some outline notes because even he would not pull off a dud of a comic like this one. We had 1 decent issue of Spirals. The Venom issue sucked… nothing really happened to move the plot forward and here we are all over again… NOTHING IS HAPPENING. It’s a shame too because we do get some moments in this series with MJ and Peter, Eddie as an abused child. All the char acter work is overshadowed by this crossover event that doesn’t seem to really be a Crossover event. I know nothing about Torment other than he’s killing people related to the Spider Family and it’s barely the focus . Other than that we are 2 issues deeper with near zero progress. This really stinks of a cash grab to fill 9 issues and sell comics vs an actual story. And that’s why I say skip this issue. Nothing happens.Pt 3 same deal. What will happen is you’ll have $10 extra in your pocket. This art is good but it’s so inappropriate for this type of comic. Damn shame. Death spiral is so far… spiraling down the toilet.
