This issue demonstrates the positive effect Nightwing has on the community of Blüdhaven. He's an inspiring beacon of hope for the city and for everyone that lives there, whether they're small children or full grown adults. Dan Watters presents all of Nightwing's positives so well that it's making his series a must-read every single time. Looking forward to what he has next for us going into 2026. Read Full Review

    COMICON - Scott Redmond

Everything works spectacularly as ‘Nightwing’ #135 provides a thoroughly satisfying and emotionally resonant conclusion to it’s current story arc and throughline. Nothing is left the same as the consequences of this story are sure to be felt for quite some time for Blüdhaven’s hero. Read Full Review

    Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield

This issue feels like it’s all about tying things up and putting other things back in the bottle, but there are some really nice lower-key moments as well – particularly a scene with one of the kids Nightwing saves at the end of the issue. And it looks like our next big villain is just about ready to make his debut on the scene as well with the next arc. Read Full Review

Only one star can be the center of attraction at the evil circus in a thrilling story finale. Watters delivers on a superb conclusion to the latest arc. Soy and Gandini construct a wild scenario of events with the art. Another great arc concludes with much more on the horizon. Don’t pass this up at the LCS this week. Read Full Review

    AIPT - Michael Guerrero

Nightwing #135 nicely wraps up this act of Dan Watters' time on the series. It's clear he isn't going anywhere anytime soon as the story ends by planting seeds for future threats Nightwing may find himself facing sooner rather than later. Additionally, the story does an overall good job wrapping things up without rushing anything. Read Full Review

Ending giant arcs always seem to be difficult in comics, but this was done right.

Solid conclusion to a long uneven arc, with Dick rescuing the city’s kids and getting a timely assist from his colleague Nightwing Prime, who makes a big sacrifice. I’m disappointed that we didn’t see more of the toll of such a massive earthquake that leveled the city, but I’m excited to see where the book goes next with its new mayor. This won’t be the first time that we’ve seen Blüdhaven run by a criminal despot though.

Everything here seemed rushed. The art has a huge drop in quality in some panels. It's impressive that an arc lasting over a year brought nothing new to the main character of the comic. Edited: With more time now. Nightwing, merely an observer in his own comic, achieves no victory in the end. He failed to save the children; one was left behind because Nightwing never found a way to defeat Zanni. And he just stood by while the Justice League and the gangs cleaned up the city he failed to protect. And on top of that, the comic wants the reader to see this as a victory. Not even Taylor could write such an incapable Nightwing. Waiting for a new writer.
