This is a great issue from Greg Pak and the entire creative team. It brings together the prequel & original trilogies in a really fun and interesting way. It also teases some information that Luke doesn't know but is obviously curious about on some level. Where things go from here is anyone's guess, and not everyone might like that but I do. I prefer to be surprised and shocked by what I read, and I know Greg Pak is going to do just that. Read Full Review
There are plenty of bits to enjoy in this issue and I understand the longer arc that's being painted here for Vader with plans within plans and all. But some of it just feels overly complicated, especially when mixing in things like the Schism which is an interesting idea but just didn't come together well. Vader took on too many fantasy elements as this storyline has played out as well and the supporting cast around him just isn't that interesting. The time with Luke certainly works well and tying into Sabe is a big plus as it opens Luke up to a bit more information. But it's also good to see him struggling with things that the Emperor and Vader will push him on harder soon enough and to know that it's a struggle he's been facing for some time. Read Full Review

While Luke Skywalker deals with Sabes “test”, Darth Vader deals with the inevitable betrayal from Administrator Moore and her allies in the Schism Imperial. With the comic focusing on both father and son, its clear the upcoming issues will explore the dynamic both Luke and Vader share even light years apart. Read Full Review
The creatives aren't entirely giving up on the series, as we still see glimpses of existential reflections from both characters about where their destinies are headed, though these elements are a bit muddled in the more immediate narrative that is taking place regarding the Imperial Schism.
