Just who are the mysterious Rogues chasing after Wally West, and how did they join Project Olympus?
They're an interesting and messy group, one that definitely captures the vibe of the classic family of criminals. But this issue also contains some incredible lore drops, including the first appearance of an incredibly important figure in the Flash family and a betrayal that, while expected, comes at the exact right time for maximum impact. Not a huge amount happens in this issue beyond a fairly long flashback sequence showing Colonel West recruiting the Rogues for Project Olympus, which explains how they gained their powers. While the flashback does its job in filling in backstory, the real highlight is the smaller, more human story of a father trying to connect with his son. West's attempts to reach Wally, paired with the subtle emotional beats and micro-expressions captured in the artwork, give the issue a heart that contrasts with the larger, high-stakes elements of the plot. It's a reminder that even in stories about superpowered operatives and shadowy projects, the quiet, personal moments can be just as compelling. Read Full Review

Waaaay better than the last issue
the was surprisingly good. I think this was my favorite issue involving the superhero's villains. I am intrigued on the mystery of Barry Allen and Eobard Thawne's ancestor.
This issue was a fantastic rebound from the clunky art and storytelling of the previous Heat Wave issue. We get an intriguing origin for the Absolute Rogues that improves upon the classic DCU group, and still poses exciting details yet to come. Additionally, there’s new shades presented regarding Wally’s dad: he’s not quite the monster we were led to believe, and he too experiences betrayal. So nice to have this book back on track after the previous blip.
I still love this. The art shake up has unfairly led to the positivity that was surrounding this run being halted.
Lemire's quality story telling remains.
It’s a sold issue.definitely adds to the mystery of it.
