Gotham City is besieged on all sides. The Orghams’ iron fist holds the city in a death grip. The Joker’s Daughter terrorizes the streets, while Mr. Freeze’s most apocalyptic creation yet menaces the city from below. Does the Dark Knight stand a chance?
This is a huge ensemble piece, and I'm still a little puzzled by how prominent a role Joker's Daughter is playing in the finale, but this is one of the biggest-scale Gotham stories DC has done in some time. Ram V has been putting puzzles together since the start of this run, and the larger picture is starting to form as we head towards the big finale. Read Full Review

Detective Comics #1087 was a better issue, with better art and better writing. I hope the conclusion to this story follows suit and leaves me pleasantly surprised. Read Full Review
Detective Comics #1087 is at once both the climactic payoff to years of build-up, and yet more build-up for what is to come. Detective Comics #1087 ups the action, energy, and pacing to deliver one of the better issues in the series. That said, the plot only works if you accept a tidal wave of shortcuts, convenient coincidences, and happy accidents that put everyone exactly where they need to be at exactly the right time without explanation. We see all the cards Ram V has spend 2 years setting up beginning to fall into place. This is a transitional issue but it does so well.
I really enjoyed the backup as well. A strong take and development on Azrael.
Some could have been cool moments that are wasted/meaningless due to this story being so dragged out and full of forgettable villains that take away from any excitement and emotional investment.
