Ultimately, while this issue might feel like one of the weaker of the series so far, it still makes for a fascinating read that is able to focus on the strengths of this Titans-focused crossover. Read Full Review
There's a late reveal this issue that doesn't quite land with the biggest impact, but Taylor has earned the benefit of the doubt to have the ability to stick the landing. Read Full Review
Titans: Beast World #5 does a great job acting as the penultimate chapter of the DC Universe' latest big event. Amanda Waller's anti-superhero agenda is shown in full force. She forced the Titans into a corner where they were left in a no-win scenario. It led to a great surprise reveal that elevated Raven to be front-and-center for the finale of this event. The issue is solid as the Beast World story is looking to wrap up loose ends, and by the looks of it, all of them too. Read Full Review
Titans: Beast World #5 maximizes the penultimate issue in this crossover with escalated stakes, big emotional beats. plenty of action, and fantastic art. Whoever kicked Tom Taylor in the pants to craft this story should continue kicking because this is the most enjoyable superhero comic from Taylor in years. That said, plot holes abound, so don't think too hard about the story or it falls apart. Read Full Review
In conclusion, Beast World is capable of much more than it's going to give. Frustratingly, the lead characters have spent most of this event playing defense or the backseat. Worse of all, Waller's actions and the Dr. Hate reveal continuously makes them look incompetent. On a positive note, this story has gripping ideas and decent artwork. Frankly, the ethical conversations and wild concepts around the heroes role in society are carrying the book. Yet, various details unravel the good will Taylor earns with this humiliating direction. Still, as the penultimate chapter, Beast World #5 accomplishes this necessary phase of the magic trick. I truly hope it finds a good place to land, despite the embarrassing cliffhanger. Easily the best DC event in YEARS
good issue with great art. I hope this event ends strong.
I really liked that this slowed the pace down a bit after the first four issues. I think that's exactly what this needed after the death of Beast Boy. I'm also glad we got a lot of focus on Raven here, as she and Beast Boy are my two favorite members of the Titans. I think Taylor wrote her really well here, and I also thought he did the same for Amanda Waller. Overall, this was a well-written and well-drawn issue that makes me excited to see how the next, and final, issue plays out.
This issue could make all Titans better, more prepared, more ready. But no, they are just reactive.
Dont understand why people's giving this that high nothes.
This was not an event's issua, this was a Titan's issue, and the story's loosing itself with all the Amanda stuff.
Also the art is bland, If you're going to do an event with six issues, make sure your first artist can draw every page.
