BLACK CANARY'S ALL-NEW TEAM ON THEIR FIRST MISSION! Black Canary has built an all-new team with a very specific and very dangerous first mission: extraction! Their target: [REDACTED]! She's being held on [REDACTED] and guarded by a battalion of [REDACTED]. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, then we're explaining it wrong! It's a terrible mission! And before it can even be launched, the Birds have to gather a few mysterious supplies and see some old familiar faces...that they punch!
This is single-handedly one of the easiest comics to write about. Birds Of Prey #2 is just as good as the first issue and I can only see it getting even more mad and amazing from here on out. Kelly Thompson's always been someone to watch out for, and issues like these are the reason why. I have a feeling something heart-wrenching is coming soon! Read Full Review

Birds of Prey #2 is a brilliant mix of dialogue and action. Thompson is the perfect fit for this book; he is superb at creating connections between the characters. It’s an expansive and inclusive comic, making it a fun read. Read Full Review
It's just pure fun from beginning to end, and that's even before we get into the reveal, which brings in another surprising ally from the teamone that Harley knows, and one that is basically the funniest thing imaginable given Kelly Thompson's Marvel past. Decent chance this winds up becoming DC's best book. Read Full Review

I continue to love Romeros art in this series. It has a wonderful, classic look to it that is beautifully detailed and visually engaging. Read Full Review

Birds of Prey #2 is a winner of a second issue, continuing the energy and buzz of the debut. It sets things up well with a mix of spy and superheroics with a great dose of humor. Add in great artwork and this is a series that's fun to sit back and enjoy. Read Full Review

Birds of Prey #2 is a vast improvement over the debut issue. The team chemistry for the roster Black Canary assembles shines. The mission involving a heist set in Themyscira is given the high stakes expected from a premiere superhero team. Along with great looking arc the potential of Birds of Prey becoming one of DC Comics best series shines here. Read Full Review
I'm so excited about this issue! And the more excited I get the more worried I get because God knows I've been burnt before. It's hard not to look at all the improvements made and feel like there might be a great story through and through but the first issue keeps knocking at the door to remind me that there are still some lingering problems to deal with. Lots of coincidences and causal explanations that are somewhat understandable now without exactly being flawless. But every character feels unique and the writing doesn't hinder the story even if it doesn't exactly work best with it on a reread. So for now I'll be keeping to this story with fingers crossed and a smile on my face. Score: 7.5/10 Read Full Review
Leonardo Romero's stunning artwork aside, the story doesn't quite align with what I've come to expect from the traditional Birds of Prey team dynamics and character relationships, which feels somewhat alienating for a longtime fan. Still, I have faith in Kelly Thompson as a writer, so I'm willing to give the book a chance at least through its first arc. Read Full Review
Birds of Prey #2 is fine when it's just the teammates interacting with each other. But a lot of weirdness happens just to get the plot moving. Read Full Review
Birds Of Prey #2 abandons any dramatic tension or seriousness in favor of a sanitized version of the Harley Quinn HBO cartoon with less cursing and more MCU Phase 4 levels of humor. The reason for Sin's predicament is explained, albeit poorly, and the team makes slapsticky progress on their mission, but it's very clear Thompson is writing for a very small audience that does NOT include legacy BoP fans, and Romero's art makes that small target audience even smaller. Harley Quinn ruins everything she's in. She doesn't play well with others and it's no different in Birds of Prey #2. She doesn't mesh well with the rest of the team tonally. Her ridiculousness detracts from what at times begins to feel like a Birds of Prey comic. There's far too little time spent on character which leaves too much time for Harley. Thankfully, Romero does a really nice job with the art on this issue. Script-wise it feels messy and cobbled together, you just sort of want to get through it so the plot can move forward. It's definitely a step backwards from last issue. Read Full Review
Im having a lot of fun with this book. I just love this art style and the presentation. The clever paneling, the cameos, and the consistent character work with surprisingly good humor are making this a standout.
this was a pleasant surprise. I am re-reading this and after taking my time I am Vibing with the team
Issue one was getting the team together. Issue two is making the team work and setting up for what is a heist. A couple of good set pieces. There is some good tension between the characters as they attempt to achieve the impossible and infiltrate Themyscira. There is a good sense of urgency in the story and a good slice of action. Love the whole page fight scenes with lots happening. Watch out for some guest appearances. The special guest from at the end of the issue was great. More good stuff from Cassandra Cain and Big Barda. Fabulous duo.
While we got through the formation of this team in Issue 1, I must say I was expecting them to start getting into the actual mission this time around. However, I still enjoyed what we got with the team actually planning and preparing for everything. I'm looking forward to seeing the team and King Shark trying to get into Themyscira in the next issue, and I'm a little bit surprised at how much I'm enjoying Harley in this series after a lot of people seemed to be upset at her inclusion in this series.

It feels like something is lacking in this issue. It's a slow pace, albeit, a filler issue. We know why Wonder Woman is not available to answer the call to the team, due to the ongoing events in her series. Not sure why people don't like the art style of this series, I think it's clearer and crisper than the last series. Another user said there was a lot of Harley - and I agree. For a team series, it needs to focus on all the remaining heroes. Overall, I'm excited to see where this plot goes and the confrontation of Wonder Woman next issue.
It felt like I was in the minority in my criticisms of Kelly Thompson’s DC debut in the previous issue, but I was happy to see that some of the things that I didn’t care for were a one-issue instance. Thompson starts to answer a few of the lingering questions, most notably why there’s tension with the Amazons and why Wonder Woman isn’t available to thaw it out. Leo Romero’s designs continue to be the best part of this book and I’m also coming around to Jordie Bellaire’s approach to colors, which I think are really a feat of artistry. While Thompson’s script is strong and her vision becomes more realized, there’s still a bit too much Harley Quinn for what I’d like to see. Her usage is causing Cassandra, Big Barda, and Zeamore
I'm not a fan of the art in this book and it's taking a very long time to get started. What I find completely stupid is that Dinah goes to Constantine for something magical and he opens a portal -- why can't he open a portal to Themyscira? Instead, we have this whole King Shark thing. It was very confusing and silly. I hope the story finally gets moving in the next issue.

Weird art style. Story feels a bit disjointed.
