So I just read this issue..... and wow. To say Marvel dropped the ball on this event is an understatement. A better analogy would be Marvel running, tripping, and faceplanted so hard that they broke their nose. This is Game of Thrones Season 8 of Spider-Man stories. This will be a non-spoiler review

The only thing I really agree with is the Mephisto stuff, but I re-read the beginning of issue one, and although it was clearly written to make you think One More Day, it also makes sense as an intro and ending. The fight was the game of luck, and Peter's influence on these characters tilted the scale in Peter's favor of... surviving. He beat Mephisto by changing Boomerang and Doc Ock for the better as people, because without them, he'd be dead.

Psycamorean - Sep 1, 2021

I don't like how manipulative that was, but I do still think it works.

At its core, this issue is retconning away the worst of Sins Past and all the related storylines. That's great. I'm very glad about that. I really don't know what to expect from the final issue of this run. The two week wait will be hard, assuming the spoilers don't come out ahead of time. I'm kind of dreading explaining this issue to my friends when they read it and only get like half of it. So.. more

Well, Kindred does say "this final form" in reference to the different incarnations of Sarah and Gabriel, as in the body he's possessed in the moment, which is Sarah's.

Psycamorean - Sep 9, 2021

I actually think there are two Kindreds. Unless the stuff with Spider-Man is happening at a different time. If it's not, Kindred has possessed both Sarah and Gabriel.

So this is a weird one. A lot happens here but I feel like this is a issue that only massive, massive Spider-Man fans, the kind of people who have read all issues, can totally grasp all the implications here. I like that he didn't pull back on Harry being Kindred, though.

My biggest issue is another one, though. Spencer's run has been very wordy and while some people complained about th more

This gets an automatic pass for retconning past sins. I enjoy the heavy attention to continuity. Not enough writers write as though they've not even read a Wikipedia article on the character (I'm referring to you Loeb and Bendis). I like Spencer is trying to weave everything together. The problem, and why I just can't rate it any higher, was that even for someone like myself, who has read all of t more

Completely agree, people seem to just love this because it is a retcon that everyone wanted. The writing here is so bad, and the journey to get here has been so tiresome

Nick Spencer is BASED for retconning Sins Past in one single issue. Maybe these 90+ issues were worth it after all. I'm gonna catch up on the rest of this storyline and stick around for the finale. Congrats Spencer you gave me a reason to come back.

Even still, I'm glad this storyline was retconned to oblivion. It should've never happened in the first place or at the very least have been retconned in One More Day. This is a win in my book.

The art in this issue was a huge step up. I admit I'm bias as a massive spidey lore fan, but dang does Spencer know how to please fans like me. Spencer's bold kove to retcon the sins past story and connect it to Kindred seems abrupt at first but the more you think about it , the more it feels like natural plot than what actually happend in Sins Past.

Humanity SHOULD have a shit fit. Imagine that tomorrow Germany manages to claim the moon or Mars as their own. It's world war the next second. If anything, the humans will be too lenient with mutants if they don't start a war.

@fenixlasnegras: I expected a lot better than what we got here, the art was good. Though I have some critiques towards Larraz, too. The designs for the Arakki mutants are pretty lame, I expected better from him. He's still my favorite artist from the X-Men line and the best from Marvel right now but I feel like he didn't let his imagination run wild enough. X-Men has a history of interesting looking characters and the Arakki did nothing for me.
