I don't care, that ending alone makes this a 10.

The problem with dystopian future stories is that they are so frequent and so often falling into the same tropes. To be clear, these are tropes for a reason. The threat of authoritarianism and fascism has been rolling around in the minds of people for decades and decades, and especially in today's climate. I can only begrudge the tropes so much, is my point. If they're done well, and I believe they are done well here, I do sort of fall into the sway of it. I want to see our heroes beat back the fascists again. more

Half a point deducted because ... Supes flies Lois to the Fortress of Solitude without a coat? Hat? Scarf? It's the arctic! High altitude! High speed! Must be minus 100. Sorry. Lois is dead. Supes killed her.

Heavy Big Lebowski influence/homage, which is done well. I really enjoyed this first issue and will definitely pick up the second.

40 pages of Kara moping to the same beats as the current Power Girl book.

As others have noted, there is very little action in this issue, but the action has never been the appeal of this series for me. The characters and their interactions are the heart this book, and this issue is full of wonderful character moments.

Much better outcome than Operation Iraqi Freedom and we learn that Themyscira has a top-notch, encrypted cloud.

Introspective and sad.

This was a wonderful read and a visual masterpiece.

Wonder Woman #1 plays into so many of Tom King's strengths: espionage, government overreach, superheroes with their backs against the wall, commentary on today's society. It was a joy to read what felt like the culmination of so many years writing so many limited series in these veins.

I loved the inclusion of the mysterious, unknown narrator to provide exposition throughout the book and the reveal at the end had my jaw on the floor. It added to the mystique and uncertainty of what was happening in the world.

King's depiction of the 24-hour newscycle rotting society's brains and warping their views is a scary and far-too-real reflection on what our own society is faced with on a daily basis.

Daniel Sampere's art is truly divine, like belonging in the Sistine Chapel level of divinity. His attention to detail stands alone in every scene. I love the action scenes, especially the one where Wonder Woman gets to show of her stealth and combat abilities. more

People seem to have very strong feelings about Tom King.Guess I'm on the fan side. Best Wonder Woman I've read in some time.
