Green Lantern #5 is a perfect example of a creative team complementing each other and delivering a fantastic end product for the reader. The story is a rollercoaster ride filled with action, inspiring heroics and an uplifting message that resonates. Sinestro is back, but this time the games is going to be a little different, but we know that Hal will rise above once again. Jeremy Adams and Xermanico deliver the strongest issue yet, leaving the reader hungry for the next installment. Ten out of ten lanterns. Read Full Review
Green Lantern #5 sets a high bar moving forward, and I couldn't recommend it more. Read Full Review
Green Lantern is exactly the kind of spark that should be the norm for this Dawn of DC era. It's standing out as one of the brightest lights in this new initiative and remains a lot of fun. Read Full Review
Green Lantern #5 is a tremendous issue. The decision to ground both Green Lantern and his greatest enemy was genius, as it localized the storytelling. One of the most famous rivalries in DC’s history is reignited and reforged, with the damage their battles caused being felt by people who are just spectators. Read Full Review
Green Lantern #5 is an absolute win. Adams' has displayed his keen understanding of Hal and his world in just a few short issues, and the latest release feels like the icing on the cake. Read Full Review
This series has been heavily inspired by Top Gun since the start of its run, bringing Hal back to its roots as a story of a high-flying space cowboybut it's never embraced its roots quite as much as with this issue. Read Full Review
Jeremy Adams, Xermanico, and the rest of the GL creative team craft an issue that inspires people, which we can really use now. Read Full Review
Green Lantern #5 is a "how to balance character, story and action. Not only does it focus on character, it get the character parts right. These characters feel like the characters they are supposed to be, and that's not something that's happening enough in comics today. Adams had a great run on The Flash and after escaping the distraction of Knight Terrors, it's really coming together in Green Lantern, as well. Read Full Review
Green Lantern #5 moves at Mach 10 and provides an extra piece to the puzzle while still leaving a few tidbits to be desired. Hal's ring appears to be upgraded while Sinestro's motive becomes a bit more clear. Altogether, Adams and his creative team deliver a solid story with just enough pizzazz to keep fans dialed in until the next issue. Let me know what you think, have a great week, and God Bless! Xermanico delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. The visuals are stunning in their detail and perfectly capture the suspense, speed and action of the story. Read Full Review
Green Lantern #5 is a ring-slinging dream for Lantern enthusiasts. Jeremy Adams delivers past-paced Lantern action from beginning to end with a killer cliffhanger, and Xermnico's art is excellent. Read Full Review
The action itself is effective and Hal figuring out how to use his ring more has some nice moments to it as it feels like he's gaining a new confidence while still being careful of what he can do with it. It's not bad but it doesn't feel like things are as tight as they should be in the storytelling department. Read Full Review
Brilliant, classic superhero goodness. Hal vs Sinestro, will vs fear. A great showing from their creative team.
So this issue might be the best Adam Green Lantern story yet. This really shows the might of Hal Jordan. Like if series was a movie, this was the climax of that movie and it was amazing. This felt great, everything was on the table and Hal rose to the occasion.
It just feels like an adrenaline rush this issue. Loved almost every page. Good stuff.
Art was great.
Back up story though... like the plot itself isnt bad. A bit weak for Tomasi but still okish. The art though is clearly meant for a kids book and this doesnt mesh with the main story at all. The art is all wrong for this book. Really this is the biggest problem with this issue but its a backup so I mostly disregard this. Shame on the art though.
This was my favorite issue of Adams's run yet. I really liked the use of Hal's powers in this one. I thought the way Hal's ring was able to counter the cloaking device was really interesting, and I also really enjoyed the way he simultaneously destroyed the two ships in completely different locations with two different constructs. Good stuff all around when it comes to the main story. When it comes to the backup story, I feel very similarly to how I felt with it in the last issue. It's fairly solid, but it's not yet doing much to convince me to read the new Sinister Sons book it's leading into, unfortunately.

I honestly think Jeremy Adams might be the next best Green Lantern writer, right after Geoff Johns
There was a lot to like in this issue. It was the best GL Jeremy's written so far. I think he needs to delve into how rings work in his universe because it's outside the norm of what we are all used to. Hal being able to call on the entire spectrum and Sinestro's yellow ring being able to be charged with Red energy. I'm not against it, I just need more info.
