The interaction between Batman and Lobo is a lot of fun, with Batman’s prep-time usually getting the edge over Lobo’s ruthlessness, and the reveal of Lobo’s ideal world was hilarious. Read Full Review

An homage to the past provides a great clash of personalities with Batman and Lobo teaming up ! Taylor plays up to the strong personalities and deeper emotions. Scott and Kwok flood the panels with a personal look at a world than never came. A great detour from the current chaos of Gotham City. Read Full Review

An intergalactic investigation headed by Batman AND Lobo is exactly the kind of wild storyline that makes annuals exciting books to collect. The Detective Comics 2026 Annual is a solid story with good artwork, simple as that. It’s not something that will redefine Batman storytelling for years to come, but who would want it to? Two different styles of Batman centric stories make up this Annual issue for ‘Detective Comics,’ both showcasing the unique sides of this beloved vigilante. There are some quibbles with one of the stories, as the other stands tall visually and creatively, giving an overall fun level reading experience. Read Full Review

"Pyg Tale's" drastic change in look and tone might turn off some readers, but it isn't without its own good qualities. Read Full Review

If Detective Comics 2026 Annual were simply For the Main Man Who Has Everything as a double-sized issue, this would be as good of an annual as you could ask for. It’s an effective odd-couple team-up, with enough adventure and hijinks to keep you engaged, surprising chemistry between its two leads, and a fantastic heart-to-heart conversation between Batman and Alfred. Unfortunately, the second story drags the overall issue down. Its characters are unmemorable, their development is paper-thin, and the narrative simply isn’t compelling enough to stand alongside its predecessor. Read Full Review
