Green Lantern #14 is a vital part of Absolute Power. It is involved in the event in many ways, with Lanterns included on Earth and beyond. Read Full Review
There are some great segments here that show how Jadestone is slowly changing, with the robot and Alan Scott playing chess as Alan slowly manipulates Jadestone to ask more questions. Those questions play into Jadestone's pursuit of Hal as well. Read Full Review
Green Lantern #14 is one of the strongest tie-ins to Absolute Power because Jeremy Adams gives you plenty of cool developments, action, excitement, and adventure while finding an organic way to further the plot on Green Lantern. There isn't a bad spot scene in this entire comic, and the art team delivers. Read Full Review
Overall, Green Lantern #14 is a bold and unexpected chapter in the series. By placing Hal Jordan in unfamiliar territory, the comic revitalizes the character and offers a fresh perspective on the Green Lantern mythos. While the focus on action might overshadow some character development, the issue is undeniably entertaining and leaves readers eager to see how Hal will overcome this latest challenge. This creative team is playing nicely with the rest of the DCU as they take their cast and put them in danger with Waller's Absolute Power. It is a fun adventure that will showcase the people behind the powers and remind us why we like them, which will also give Absolute Power one of its biggest moments. Read Full Review
Green Lantern #14 is a balancing act between two main stories with a number of subplots thrown in for good measure. While it would be nice to have more space devoted to Adams' ongoing Green Lantern story, he executes the crossover assignment extremely well. If you're enjoying Absolute Power, this book is probably even better. Read Full Review
Another solid Absolute Power tie-in by Jeremy Adams!
I miss him writing The Flash, but I am so happy he's on the Green Lantern book! That dude can do no wrong, it seems!
But the back story by Marc Guggenheim also deserves a lot of praise. It was a short, emotional, awesome ride, that gives us a little bit more depth on the situation involving the Green Lantern Corps.
Simply amazing!
Fantastic issue and a perfect example of how Jeremy Adams is one of, if not, the best writer at DC. He delivers a fun story, ties into the event, delivers great character writing, connects to elements of other/previous writer's stories, all while progressing the main story of the series.
solid showing. I like how Jeremy Adams writes Hal Jordan as resourceful
Good stuff, tying what's going on in the GL books in with the Absolute Power event in with an "out of the frying pan into the fire" situation with Hal accidentally delivering a bunch of weapons to the resistance to use. Hal desperately fighting back with all the villains' weapons was a fun gimmick, and written well to show Hal's bravado and confidence but also knowing he's out-match and screwed without a huge stroke of luck to save him. Really good issue.
Another solid issue for this series, but also another one that's a little weak in comparison to the rest of the run so far. I just haven't found these Absolute Power tie-ins to be as interesting, unfortunately. It also doesn't help that I'm really missing Xérmanico on the art duties. Oh yeah, and I don't think really think Guggenheim's backup was incredibly necessary.
Aside from the Sorrow ring, which I think is just a ludicrous idea, the issue follows John McLane, err, I mean Hal Jordan as he attempts to escape Nacatomi Plaza and the clutches of Amazo and Amanda Waller. I'm not a fan of the Absolute Power event and would much rather read about the war against the United Federation. I waiting to see what happens with Carol. I can only hope that the event ends soon and DC will give us all a break from a new event happening until 2025.
