Lee delivers some impressive art throughout the issue. The visuals are lively and beautifully detailed. Read Full Review
Another solid outing that promises to lead to a larger climax, this issue is a must read for Iron Man fans. I am at the point where I want the story to come to an end because I am so invest in it, but I would be happy to continue this storyline for months to come. It is a testament to the entire creative team when the reader isn't ready to move on to the next chapter in the series. Read Full Review
Invincible Iron Man #18 forces Feilong to switch sides when the Orchis tables turn in an issue brimming with corny quips, outdated pop culture references, and odd recharacterization of established characters. The art looks great, and things are moving, but this issue feels like everything wrong with the MCU Phase 4. Read Full Review
With action sequences characterized as standard superhero fare and smarmy narration explaining everything that's currently happening and what's to come on the page, it's difficult to develop much excitement for this climax. Read Full Review
Something I really loved about this run is that in spite of it being directly tied to X-Men, it remained an Iron Man comic. You could feasibly read this and not any of the X-Men stuff, and still get your fix. But this issue kinda fucks that up. And while I'm sure next issue will rebound, I'm slightly concerned it won't.
The story beats were fine but the writing was so corny and the art did nothing in its favor. It’s a shame this series is going out with a dud when it was solid for the majority of the run.
Art: 3/5
Story: 3/5
Total: 6/10
All that build up with Feilong and then this? What?
