During that encounter, Qui-Gon defeated the young Rath, who went by a different name at the time, but breached the rules of combat by using his Jedi powers. This in turn led to Dooku massacring Rath's people in order to save face. Overall, this was a fun series that could have either been condensed more, or made some of the stories a bit more standalone-ish in order to give it more weight. I did appreciate those tales that we got, and to take the time just to do something entertaining, but the mix didn't work as well as I would have liked because the core story felt like it was too dragged out. Some of it is just Qui-Gon's way where it's easier to just let things happen and eventually it'll come to the right moment to intervene. It makes sense in life, but in storytelling line this is just felt too decompressed. I'd almost say doing half the series as standalone tales first and then leaning into a five-issue story would have been better. Regardless, it was entertaining as a whole and I like this period and these characters, so seeing their exploits was enjoyable. Especially with Musabekov's artwork, as I really like their sense of design for aliens and worlds, and for our leading characters as well. Solidly enjo Read Full Review

With the exception of the Jedi Apprentice YA novels by Jude Watson - Star Wars: Jedi Knights #10 might be the perfect Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan story to date. Qui-Gon faces Corlis Rath in a final duel that does not go the way one would expect, yet fits perfect into the world of Star Wars and the Jedi. The tone of the book is exactly what it needed to be and culminates perfectly for the series. Seeing as there is no solicitation for issue 11 and Marc Guggenheim is now writing a Jar-Jar comic (with Ahmed Best), I can assume that this is the final issue and it stuck the landing. If you are a fan of prequel era Star Wars - I highly recommend this incredible (short lived) series.

Wow! I can't believe they just canceled this title out of the blue. At issue 10, which is a weird number to finish up with. This was the first Star Wars title I actually liked in quite a while. The story ended nicely, but it did feel rushed. I wonder if the writer knew he ws being cancelled before writing this issue? Oh well. Just shows the stae of Star Wars.
