Rated T+
Avengers #8 is a terrific standoff against adversity. What it takes to be an Avengers is presented loud and clear early within this issue, and those credentials never take a breather. Read Full Review
Avengers #8 quickly and effectively gives emotional depth to the heroes' new adversaries, establishing them as morally grey rivals who pose an intimidating challenge. Read Full Review
Villa delivers some beautifully detailed and dynamic art in the issue. Blee provides a wonderful color palate for the action and characters as well. Read Full Review
While it was a bit of a slow start, The Avengers #8 built into a fun ride full of great action, solid character beats and amazing art work! Read Full Review
Jed MacKay and C.F. Villa make a dynamic duo, with fantastic writing and voices for the characters together with bombastic art. Read Full Review
The focus on individual team members and their interactions is nice, and Thor is in rare form, but it's another example of a good comic that feels like a chapter rather than a full-issue experience. Read Full Review
Summary
Wanda and Vision do everything they can to stop the Twilight Court. Exciting and great installment
I LOVE THIS SERIE.
THE INTERSCTIONS, THE HISTORY AND THE TEAMS HAVE SO MUCH SOUL AND CREATIVITY
Great issue once again with this series. I wasn't incredibly into the Twilight Court here, but I still do find them intriguing. What really makes this issue for me, along with Villa's super solid art, is how MacKay continues to nail the characters. My only hope, for now, is that the Twilight Court gets more interesting sooner rather than later.
I don't understand all the high ratings. This book is ok. I will say I do like Thor putting aside his pride when the rest of the Avengers so were prideful they would destroy themselves instead of helping their allies. Scarlet Witch and Vision were good but all in all this issue is just ok. I dont really feel anything for the antagonists. Just feel like generic back-story. This series really needs to pick it up or I will drop it if this arc doesnt go well.
Art: 3/5
Story: 3.5/5
Total: 6.5/10
You’re kidding me…a robot King Arther. Kinda noticeably rushed art in some moments. But really its a silly clusterfuck at this point.
I must have read a different book than everyone else. I am not liking this arc. Taking the Arthurian names and sticking them on gender-swapped sci-fi characters? Wow that's new and brave Jed McKay. You can't come up with original names? The entire issue is nothing but a single fight scene with no depth. The best part was Thor laughing and telling Nightmare that he won. I still hate Cap Marvel's new costume. The bottom line is that I just don't care. The worst emotion to illicit from your readers is apathy and that's where I am with this. Dropping this book.
