Action Comics #1101 ramps up the stakes in the battle against General Zod and the Kryptonite plague he has unleashed upon the Earth. The entirety of the House of El, along with their allies, are in dire straits but a fantastic cliffhanger shows us that hope still survives. Mark Waid and the art team deliver a great second part in the ‘Kingdom of Zod’ crossover, and I’m very eager to see where this story goes. Read Full Review

Superman’s return to the timeline might be too late as Zod takes control! Waid pens a steady build of the Volatile Kyrptonian on the attack. Montos and Plascencia bring the action as the fight keeps escalating out of control. Will hope bend the knee to the Kingdom of Zod? Only one way to find out! Read Full Review

Mark Waid gives Clark a welcome homecoming that is equal parts triumphant and chaotic, while Montos delivers artwork that makes the inevitable Superman-versus-Zod spectacle feel appropriately massive. it's solid but already very cluttered and full of characters by the second issue. I liked the conversation between Lois and Zod here, as well as the overall threat. The art is super inconsistent, and that goes for the Supergirl issue too.
