This current run of Marvel's first family has a specific characteristic that separates it from every other on-going series on the shelves right now. That characteristic is the single issue or at most, two-issue stories. You can pick up any issue from this 20 plus run and you start and finish an adventure by the fantastic four right there and there. Read Full Review

Fantastic Four #24 concludes this two-part story as the heroes find out more about the aliens in the tiny subatomic ships. The backstory of the alien pilot Zrixa and her people is interesting, but the fate of her people, how it happened, and their final actions were less then satisfying. Thankfully, the highlight is Mr. Fantastic as he takes over as narrator and his thoughts give this comic plenty of life similar to how Johnny did in the previous issue. Read Full Review

I am pleased that Ryan North is creating new villains instead of using the same classic villains for the zillionth time. I am pleased to see hard science fiction in a Fantastic Four story, where it would seem most appropriate. Read Full Review

I was a little confused by the technobable in the beginning but that ending more than made up for it.

This is practically the platonic ideal of a Fantastic Four story, just perfect

Wow, just wow. This was epic on so many levels and did a good job showing just why Reed Richards is badass. So they find out this alien they found in the proton shop was named Zrixa. She tells them half truths and it turns out she came from a planet billions of light years away from us where the sun was dimming. The species figured a way to travel at light speeds that cost no fuel by extracting particles from their sun that would shrink their ships through light travel. Zrixa turned out to be the wealthy owner and creator of the ,ining operation of the sun and she horded all the particles being the sole cause of the dimming. She squandered any hope from her people and ran away, the people sent proton nuclear bombs after her out of venge more

I agree that there is a lot of technobabble, but I've come to find that endearing in this series. Also I made it into the letters page and got a No-Prize so maybe that influences my score

Excellent conclusion to the previous issue and had excellent writing of all the FF family. Quite a bitter sweet ending, with a lot of existentialist dread, but ending on a note of hope. This was one of the better stories in this run. Strong recommend.

It's what the FF are about: fun adventures with questions of dual hopelessness and hopefulness for the future. Ryan keeps the sciency mumbo jumbo going at hyper speed while Carlos Gomez delivers some of his best art colored nicely by Jesus Aburtov.
