It is crazy that I am rooting for Prime so much. It is a testament to these creators and this story. I loved just about everything in this issue and hope we get more and more of this take on Prime. Read Full Review

Lyles Movie Files - Jeffrey Lyles

The cliffhanger for this issue opens up another very exciting avenue for the creative team to explore. This Reign of the Superboys mini-event isn’t relying on a bunch of connected stories, but the Superman series is thriving without any links to the other featured characters in Superman’s absence. As far as this title is concerned, Kal-El doesn’t exactly need to rush back. Prime has got things well in hand. Read Full Review

Superman #38 is a can’t-miss issue for this Spring’s biggest event. This issue sets up exciting new things for the DC Universe. This is an all-star creative team, and it feels like they are not holding back their talents at all with this arc. Read Full Review

Superman #38 continues to be one that you should be reading. Superboy Prime is a flawed, but fun, character and Joshua Williamson is taking full advantage of Prime’s abilities to deliver an interesting story. Read Full Review

Prime-Time and Magic mix better than Oil and Water in this deceptive chapter. Williamson plays off the supernatural mythos for a surprising path. Mora and Sanchez deliver exceptional work taking Prime into dark places. This series never misses on delivering the best of Truth, Justice and a Better Tomorrow! Read Full Review

The Aspiring Kryptonian - David Beasley

The irony of Prime being obsessed with nostalgia and Williamson bringing in nostalgic characters throughout this arc has not been lost on me. That being said his writing and Mora’s art make for an incredible team as they create a very compelling story in Superman #38 around one of DC’s more notorious character. Read Full Review

    KPB Comics - Joseph Pines

This arc has me simultaneously impatient waiting for the next issue and incredibly saddened by its eventual end. It delivers classic comics adventures and an incredibly in-depth meta character study all in one. Frankly, there’s not another comic coming out right now that does both of those things quite so well. Now for another excruciating month-long wait til the next Prime time. Read Full Review

Superman #38 is a potent mix of magic, romance, and metafictional chaos. It also lays the groundwork for Prime's greatest test yet, as he faces a truly terrifying foe in Manchester Black. Read Full Review

Sorry, but this is so much fun. REALLY fun. Hopefully, in the next issue, Prime will be confronted with his sins for real, without anyone interfering.

It's such a fun adventure, and well-drawn. I like that JW is using some long-forgotten secondary characters in this arc, which makes everything even better. For me, the best issue of the arc so far.

I usually despise the whole “breaking the fourth wall” trope. I think Deadpool is a boring characters. Except for animal man, the meta thing is not really for me. Nevertheless, I love the prime centers Superman run. It’s unabashedly fun. I love the time tiny sprinkles of mata commentary: “why am i dressed like a vertigo character?” Or “don’t worry, it is just demons, Ana from legal”. I hope prime stays a while in the book.

Prime,Superboy prime whatever you want to call him , I’ll just call him the best Superman right now. Don’t get me wrong I love Clark but this comic is so fun to read each month. Everything about it is just what I want in a comic. Action , some comedy. Interesting characters. The art is fantastic and Dan Mora looks like he’s having fun drawing these panels as well. Bravo to this team. The plot is basic as can be and I don’t even care because it fits into how lighthearted this book is. Buy it. Give us a Prime Solo series just like this. I’d buy that also.
