Fraction and Wilson do a great job of exciting me for a story that wasn’t something I was looking forward, all while Camuncoli and Rathburn give the issue the fantastic imagery it needs to hook readers. And yet those who are familiar with both others will clearly be able to tell who wrote what. Typically a collaboration like this might feel more patched together from two different titles. The heavy reliance on continuity does hold it back from being friendly to all readers, especially if you haven’t been reading the Batman or Poison Ivy ongoings. That said, how well Poison Ivy and Vandal Savage are spotlighted in their full supervillain selves helps set up a epic mountain that the Batman Family need to overcome to save Gotham City. So despite this being a bit more expensive I ordered this presale to have it completed with my Poison Ivy collection not too sure if this would be anything great. I saw some headlines on YouTube from channels like Thinking Critical saying this was terrible or whatever.
When I opened it up I was hooked immediately by the art and the writing, and how many characters they fit into this without it feeling to hammed up and forced. I am going to make sure to read the other parts of this event but this main part of it was just amazing!+ Like • Comment -
