This story definitely has a smaller scale than the previous arcs, but that's what makes it work. Again, who do we have to bribe to just give Adams all the 13-21 characters in the DCU for a new team book? Read Full Review

The use of "Superman and the Mole Men plot elevated my enjoyment of Superman Unlimited #7 a great deal. That being said, given the epically high major stakes playing out in the majority of DC comics at the moment, it was also just nice to have a fun little adventure with a satisfying ending. Jon Kent's return to Smallville leads to mystery and self-reflection in a fantastic issue. The writing ties in the vintage Superman themes with new takes. Meyer, Maiolo and Sharpe construct superb imagery to guide readers through Jon's investigation. Truth, Justice and a Better Tomorrow indeed. Read Full Review

Supergirl Comic Box Commentary - Anj

Don't get me wrong. I love a good homage and nods to comic history. I mean Sophie Campbell's Supergirl is stuffed with them. But I think they need to add to the story ... not be the story. Fun issue. Great art. But also an odd diversion. Read Full Review

Slott plotting with Adams writing goes together like pb&j! A perfect combo of writers who like to have fun but elevated with Adams' mastery of character work. This is is exactly what Jon needs to as I feel like he's yet to get a good story since being aged up and really hoping we get more stories of him in this series to progress the character under the hands of better writers.

An interesting change of pace for this title, with the focus abruptly shifting to Jon Kent and strange goings-on in Smallville. With a nice dialogue assist from Jeremy Adams, this one-and-done tale features a nice callback to the old Adventures of Superman tv show.
