But Why Tho? - William Tucker
Oct 18, 2023Spine-tingling Spider-Man #1 is a terrifying start. The isolation amplifies the character’s voice, especially when so much of what fills his supporting cast and identity is stripped away. The plot is impossible to predict because of how quickly it can divert and erupt into chaos. Read Full Review

AIPT - David Brooke
Oct 18, 2023Spine-Tingling Spider-Man is a good first issue, but it reads like you should wait a bit for at least another issue to come out. That said, it brings horror visuals that'll certainly scare kids and adults alike while thrusting Peter into a nightmare you'll want to figure out. Your patience will vary though, due to the lack of answers or clues. The hair-raising scenes match the intense action. Read Full Review

If you think you've already read the scariest Spider-Man story ever, you may stand corrected after this one! Thoughts... On the cover it says the scariest Marvel comic book ever, when I read this I said to myself yeah whatever....it might actually be right. First thing that hits you as you start to read the issue is the artwork. Those opening pages are really stunning, some of the best Spider-Man images I have seen in a long time. The colours are so bright and vibrant, they are really striking. Later in the issue we see images of other more

The Peter Parker characterization is solid, and the first hints of plot development are appropriately mysterious. The pace is a little slow, but that's forgivable, especially as it makes room for a heaping helping of incredibly creepy art. This first issue is all about tone and mood, and it succeeds wildly in throwing Pete into a bona fide horror story.
