JUMP ON BOARD THE EISNER AWARD-NOMINATED SERIES! Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life is not for Nightwing! When Nightwing's investigation into who left the vault under his name leads him to discover a mysterious group behind the Hold, his past come back to haunt him in the form of the Hold's leader...
This story has high stakes, but it's also very funny and fully indulges in all the jokes about Dick's attractiveness and popularity. It's a nice, pulpy break from all the drama and suspense of other arcs. Read Full Review
Both parts of Nightwing #107 successfully craft an engaging story for readers. Read Full Review
A new pirate storyline is set up with all the skill and charm of this ongoing Nightwing series. This should be a blast and a half. Read Full Review
Nightwing #107 delivers all the action, mystery, laughs, and adventure you could ever hope for. This title stands out amongst the crowd, has been one of my favorite reads and at the top of my comics pile for close to three years now. Long may it continue. Although, I sense possible trouble at sea between Dick and Babs, now that Bea's back on the scene. Read Full Review
Overall, fans will still enjoy this issue of Nightwing. While it is not the strongest issue, its still worth picking up and its place in the overarching story still makes this a must read for Nightwing fans. I just hope the next issue picks up in pacing as fans are definitely ready to get this ship moving. Read Full Review
Nightwing #107 is another fine entry in the series. If you've been enjoying this there's no reason to think that you won't enjoy this issue. Character reigns supreme and there's an intriguing story developing in the lead tale. That sense of character continues in the second story and ties the issue together. Hopefully, you're here for Dick Grayson, the person and not simply the punch ups and actions. Read Full Review
Nightwing #107 is pure comic book fun. Tom Taylor and Stephen Byrne immediately add stakes to this pirate adventure that brings back Bea Bennett better than ever. Add in the fun Dick Grayson and Jason Tod back-up story by Michael Conrad and Serg Acua, and this is another winner for DC Comics best series. Read Full Review
Not exactly a perfect issue, but a perfectly solid one altogether. Read Full Review
Overall, I'd like to say I enjoyed this pirate adventure, despite a lingering feeling of disappointment. In some ways, the pirate part of things feels low budget like comparing the WWE to a local circuit. There's no good reason a swashbuckling adventure in the DC universe feels this small. Luckily, the intimacy of the story gives it a comfortable tone like the romance novels it lampoons. I just don't think the Crew Of The Crossed Keys are living up to the hype whatsoever in looks or story. Hopefully, Dirk will give the next part of the story the edge it needs to bring it home. Nightwing #107 fills in interesting tidbits about Bldhaven's history, and the mediocre plot makes sense, but Tom Taylor's character work makes Nightwing look incompetent, and the art is just serviceable. Read Full Review
The pirate prince
10 because it was a lot of fun. It's a tribute to the pirate films of the 50s. It respects the codes: mystery, glamour, treachery, romance, the captain's heroism... Bea resembles Captain Anne Providence, played by Jean Peters in Jacques Tourneur's 1951 film La flibustière des Antilles. Same style, same spirit, same drive, same determination... In short, it's a pleasure because the story (very well done) is heading towards something completely different from the usual superhero tale. And why not? Especially since Nightwing, with his shirt open, will be alone in his adventure this time. No help. And it looks like our hero will also have to face up to some crippling inner fears. I invite you to embark. Great adventure.
It has Ric but I didn’t hate it. Kind of filler-ey, but had some moments. One panel got a real good chuckle out of me.
A munch needed improvement for a mediocre title. This issue improves the Ric Grayson era of Nightwing while adding rich lore to Blüdhaven.
I'm not really keen on this storyline. I like the previous relationship with the pirate queen, but the storyline it comes from with Ric Grayson was not good. I don't like that she made him remove Oracle and that costume looks ridiculous. There were plenty of pirate-type costumes they could have given him. This was a meh. I hope it gets better.

Somehow this comic won the Eisner over Daredevil.
Let me be clear, I am part of LGBTQ community. Let's be clear and say what no else has the HONESTY to say, you can be queer and still realize this is absolutely ridiculous. Being gay does not give you some unassailable "right" to write ridiculous, bad, out-of-context, and not even fanfic worthy stories. In other series, we have Nightwing joining the pro-crime crowd. There is no "right to be dumb" part of being gay. This story is STILL absurd. The cover is STILL ridiculous. DC has stopped writing anything remotely about Justice and only wants soap opera romance, sci-fi, and horror. It is as though DC Comics HQ has literally been abandoned, and any random person that wanders in gets to write stories about IP that they have had for 80+ yearmore
