Feb 26, 2026Writer Benjamin Percy and artist José Luis Soares have carved a spot for Punisher in the world of Marvel Comics that brings the character up to the level he deserves. Feb 25, 2026The Punisher #1 is an awesome start of this new ongoing series. The Punisher is one of the most popular comic book vigilantes of all time and it’s awesome to see the launch of this latest series. The creative team involved in this series seems to really get the character and world, so we will be on one hell of a ride. This is a must-have issue, and a no-brainer add to your Pull List when you visit your LCS this week. Read Full Review

Feb 27, 2026The latest Punisher #1 rocks and rolls like the belt on a .50 caliber. If you're an old school Punisher fan or maybe a lapsed newer reader, rejoice - this is the real deal! No ninja nonsense, no monsters, no angels or slapstick comedy. Just vengeance served with a hollow point. Read Full Review

Feb 25, 2026Punisher #1 launches a new era with grit, control, and a surprising amount of psychological depth. Percy leans into the aftermath of Red Band, presenting a Frank Castle who is no longer fueled by ideology or rage but by reflex. That shift gives the book a haunting quality. Frank feels less like a crusader and more like a machine running on dying batteries. A thoughtful take on Punisher that's amplified by José Luis Soares Pinto’s razor-sharp linework and intense visual storytelling. The result is a first issue that feels purposeful, bleak, and confident in its direction. Read Full Review

Feb 25, 2026All in all, Punisher #1 is an outstanding way to bring the character back. It feels like a classic Punisher story, the type you’d get from the old Marvel Knights book, down to the look and feel of the art. It’s a pretty standard back to basics comic, but it does its job very well. If you’ve been waiting for Marvel’s most violent hero to come back, this is the book you’ve been waiting for. Feb 25, 2026The Punisher #1 delivers dramatic wallops and a welcome return to skull-clad classics, Frank’s instincts carving through grime with fierce precision that earns cheers from vigilante diehards. Yet those insistent Red Band plot shackles hobble what should soar as a clean #1 launch, demanding readers carry miniseries weight into supposed new ground. In a tight pull list, it claims space for raw Punisher thrills if you savor the form, but skips await those craving unburdened beginnings. Read Full Review

Feb 25, 2026I have mentioned in the past that I am not the biggest fan of the Punisher as a character. However, I have to admit that between books like Devil’s Trigger and now the start to this new series, I am gaining a new appreciation for him. He is still not going to crack my Top Ten anytime soon, but I better understand his appeal and why he has lasted for so long. And in the world of today, who does not want to see the worst of the worst meet a horrible end every once in a while? Read Full Review

Plot This comic picks up after the events of PUNISHER: RED BAND, where Frank regains his free will after removing the mind-control chip that had been controlling Kingpin. This sparked a war that landed Tombstone in jail and Kingpin was presumed dead. Frank is physically unwell, still suffering from the head injury where the chip was removed. His body has been pushed to its physical limits, yet he remains a killing machine, following police radios to eliminate as many criminals as he can. Micro is still imprisoned by Punisher, but the two men make peace. Frank needs them to see what he's going through. Jigsaw has returned and is determined to become the new Kingpin. Taking advantage of Fiske's disappearance, he forces Tombstone to han more

The Punisher is back. Most understood this issue would carry forward plot elements from Percy's Red Band Mini, but those do not make the story difficult to follow. This was your Classic Punisher Comic. Jose Luis Soares killed it with the art in this book, absolutely killed it.

Despite the fact that this is a continuation of Punisher Red Band, a mini series I really enjoyed, Benjamin Percy gives new readers a good introduction to the Punisher that feels like an actual jump on point. New artist Jose Luis Soares is pretty good, especially at conveying the street level grittiness of Frank Castle’s world. The dilemma of Frank’s old alily Microchip and the mystery of his brain injury infuse the enough intrigue into the story to make me want to come back for issue 2.

This was a good beginning, and I like the art better than in the Red Band series. We get a new introduction to Jigsaw. I like the whole candbar scene as well. I think Percy is going to do a good job with this series. Looking forward to seeing where he goes with it. My Review Channel - https://youtu.be/5UfOn0d7BH8

Punisher Yet another #1 cash grab. This didn’t need to happen but Marvel is going to Marvel right? This is run of the mill Punisher again as if all the insane stuff that Aaron did , Joe garrison etc never happened and only the mini series existed. It’s hard to forget…but ok here we are.Spoiler I just cannot forget what Marvel did to the character. so you need to really go above and beyond to undo all that garage. This issue doesnt even try to. We start off with Frank still feeling the effects of having the Kingpins control chip removed from his head while still making his way through the criminal underworld. We see a captured microchip in Frank’s custody also. And then Tombstone in jail who is bribed to sign over his criminal empire more
