Hickman and Checchetto reminded everyone the reason that Spider-Man was the keystone arc of the entire Ultimate universe. This is not to subtract from any of the other amazing teams that have worked on this iteration of the Ultimate universe, but Ultimate Spider-Man from beginning to end is one of the most unique, satisfying, and ultimately gratifying stories of Spider-Man that Marvel has released in a generation. I genuinely want more from this team and feel sad that it’s over Read Full Review

Ultimate Spider-Man #24 does a fantastic job providing a satisfying conclusion to this series. Peter Parker steps up to show no matter when he got his powers he will always step up as Spider-Man. The ending for every character arc felt right for where everyone was going. Ending the series by emphasizing the strength of the series, the Parker Family bond, was the cherry on top to leave you with a smile on your face. Read Full Review

Despite a premature end, Ultimate Spider-Man #24 is a worthy conclusion. Peter Parker was stripped of his destiny and still won. Hickman gives him the spotlight, Checchetto, Messina, and Wilson make each panel feel alive, and the final splash of the Parker family ties it all together. It’s tough to shake the feeling there’s more story to tell, but I’d rather a series end with me wanting more than wanting less.< Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Tyler Davis

    Feb 19, 2026

In the end, Ultimate Spider-Man goes out not with a whimper, but with the same quiet confidence that defined its run. It may not linger on every thread as long as some readers would like, but it never loses sight of what made it special in the first place: heart, legacy, and the belief that tomorrow can always be better than today. Even in its final pages, it feels less like a goodbye and more like a promise, one that reminds us why this interpretation of Peter Parker mattered so much, and why its absence will be deeply felt. Ultimate Spider-Man #24 is absolutely worth your time and money as a single, beautifully executed finale, but it also quietly indicts the run that led here by showing how sharp, emotional, and propulsive this book could have been all along. If you have been buying monthly, this issue finally delivers the cathartic, data-backed return on investment you were promised, even as it confirms that you subsidized a long, indulgent warmup to get there. In a limited budget, this finale earns a firm yes, but it also stands as Exhibit A that Marvel and Hickman waited far too long to make Ultimate Spider-Man feel this essential. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke

Ultimate Spider-Man #24 wraps up major threads with confidence, paying off yearlong rivalries while leaving just enough open space for readers to imagine what comes next. Hickman delivers decisive endings for Kingpin and Mr. Negative, gives Peter a hard-earned win, and reinforces the emotional core of the series through MJ. The problem is not execution but impact. With so many victories and so little true loss, the finale feels satisfying yet slightly soft. Checchetto’s dynamic art carries the action, even as Dave Messina’s contributions create occasional visual whiplash. It is a polished and crowd-pleasing conclusion, though one that opts for reassurance over devastation. Read Full Review

Plot Peter continues trying to confront Kingpin, but he can't move his body because Mr. Negative has him under his control. However, Spider-Man is clever and manages to defeat Mr. Negative, engaging Kingpin in hand-to-hand combat. Richard and Felicia try to reach the node to use the erasure device, but they are attacked by a substance that adapts to their environment. Richard's nanotechnology suit, which behaves like Venom, manages to stop it for just long enough. Ben and JJJ expose Kingpin's facade, causing him to lose his empire as well. Mr. Negative seizes the opportunity to make his final move, destroying them both. Harry forms an alliance with Captain Britain, one of the leaders of The Maker, where Mysterio impersonates Kingp more

Perfection followed by depression knowing that 616 will never measure up to this. At least someone managed to make a good Spider-Man story.

I'm sorry to say that Hickman, one of my favorite authors, managed to squander an incredibly strong concept with brilliant characters and a compelling premise. I don't know if there was editorial meddling or if Hickman simply lost interest in his original vision. Either way, it remains a massive disapointment. To be clear, it's not bad, it's actually quite decent, but on every page you can feel the wasted potential. What a mistake to end it this way.

Ok. I'm gonna start my rand about this comic and whole series with something else. TLDR: I hated this and this pretty much ruined UPM (Ultimate Potential-Man) for me. Imagine there is a new pizza place. You know the chef, you have eaten his food before, and you know he is a great cook. And you have been looking for a new pizza place, as the current ones haven’t been delivering. Each month, the Chef’s Special is what’s recommended. And each month you take it. The first 5 times it’s great. Especially the first two. What a joy. You feel like you have found a true amazing pizza place. Then, the quality hinders. It’s still good, with hints of greatness and you like it a lot. But after a year, something changes. You go to this pizza place, more
