Absolute Flash Issue 4 refreshingly ventures forward as Wally and Grodd find new ground. The action takes a back seat to make way for some excellent, calm world-building, and there is a mesmerizing approach to how the Flash mythos is adapted. Read Full Review

This issue does a great job of grounding the story, creating space to explore the characters in more depth. I especially enjoyed the interactions between Wally and Grodd, which add heart and humanity to the narrative. Colonel West's reaction to learning about his son's potential significance from Elenor was also a standout moment, adding emotional weight and intrigue. I'm looking forward to seeing how it all unfoldsand how Wally, with Grodd at his side, handles the challenges that lie ahead. Read Full Review

Absolute Flash #4 doesnt need a multiversal crisis or a speed force explosion to thrill. It pulls you in with character, heart, and the kind of quiet horror that makes you question who can truly be trusted. Its another strong entry in a series that dares to redefine what a Flash book can be. Read Full Review

    KPB Comics - Neil King

Absolute Flash #4 offers a crucial respite from the series' intense pace, allowing for deeper world-building and character development as Wally West navigates new challenges and encounters familiar faces in an alternate Central City. While the art style shifts, the issue effectively expands the Absolute Universe with intriguing new details and hints at a larger, predetermined plan for Wally's powers. Read Full Review

While it may not be as visually genius or loud as the first three issues,Absolute Flash #4is a much needed pacesetter that better sets apart the Wally West of this world and the Wally West of the core DCU. The new status quo functions as a strong story engine as well that promises to blend new ideas with the core concept of reinvention for the Flash mythos. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge

Naturally, there's a tease and connection at the end with the escaped Rogues that Grodd is quite literally leading Wally to, but that's just setting up what's to come and it could go any number of ways once it unfolds, so I'm trying not to pre-judge it. I do like this issue in that it's taking time to focus on character more than anything else, and getting Wally settled at least for the moment and making new connections. It may not be as stylish as the past couple of issues, but Lemire feels like he's settled in a bit more and it helps that it's a bit more of a linear story than what we had before. I'm feeling a touch more hopeful regarding it at this point as this installment does a lot of heavy lifting. Read Full Review

wonderful, the only downside is the art, although in this style it looks even more like a lesbian. It's what I wanted, an edition with more worldbuilding and with a focus on the humanity of the characters. Linda appears (: Other familiar names are mentioned.

The story is perfect, as usual. I don't love the art. Some of the character designs pale in comparison to previous issues but the story is so compelling, it elevates the art. Next issue please! Kevin Lainez is gunning for the Gabe Hernandez head bawbag critic on here. Bloody hell Kev, the f*** were you reading!? Sure, the art dips but the story quality is no less consistent than the previous 3 issues. I feel compelled to ask, who hurt you?

Aside from Absolute Green Lantern, the Absolute Universe keeps delivering hit after hit with consistently high quality. Absolute Flash isn't my favorite title from the line, but it's still top-tier, especially compared to what other publishers are putting out. And the pacing seems to improve with each new issue.

Writing in this one is top notch. Very well paced issue, probably best so far in that regard. Art is pretty good, bringing down rating a little.

Lemire continues to do an amazing job building the character of Wally, his dad, and the world they live in. Nice to see some new familiar faces appear in this issue. My only complaint is the guest artist, who pales in comparison to the gorgeous Nick Robles art we've enjoyed in previous issues. That last page is a stunner, can't wait to find out what happens next!

My least favorite issue of the series thus far, but still a good one that brings about a lot of interesting developments. Nice to see Linda introduced in this book, and I was also super stoked about the tease towards the end in regards to Heatwave, Wizard, Firestorm, and another unnamed character. Firestorm, in particular, is intriguing to me, as he doesn't have a strong link to Flash over in mainline DC.

Finally feel like we are starting to scratch the surface of what Barry was actually working on. Still not too much of a fan of the art, but starting to like the story more and more each week. I liked seeing that Omega Men graffiti, just letting you know. It is all connected. Really loving Grodd; I'm just not sure if he's against Wally or with him by the end of the issue LOL. Solid Issue.
