WHAT IF PETER PARKER BECAME VENOM?
Peter is finally free...or so he thought. The Fantastic Four are now in trouble, with Reed Richards in the crosshairs of the symbiote - and it's more dangerous than ever before! A brutal penultimate chapter, featuring guest stars galore and twists you'll never see coming!

Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow #4 heads toward its grand conclusion, serving up hope and horror in equal measure throughout its duration. With one issue left, I'm not sure where the creative team plans to take this story, but I'm sure it won't be a disappointment given the previous installments. Read Full Review

With the symbiote's great powers comes Spiderman's great responsibility to take back control and win the trust of others as well as himself. Bring your hankies for the finale as I have a feeling we'll need them. Read Full Review
Love the direction they went. I was worried it was the type of what if where everything just goes wrong like the Dark Multiverse stuff.
I think this man must be the most sought-after comic writer on the market thanks to what he has done with DD even though I feel somewhat saturated lately. However, it gives us a good continuation, mixing drama with action and hopelessness.
" Cap...Looj.. i know you all see as some kind of joker, but i'm telling you right now, Man to man, Face to face, it'll never take hold of me again. "
- PETER PARKER
Really good issue. I didn't expect it to go this way, but I hope the conclusion is satisfying.
It´s a total disaster that Spider now feels responsible for fixing, but the situation does not look good at all, the Symbiote is becoming more and more powerful with each infection and now it seems to have almost everyone in its power.
Pete attempts to clean up his mess, but things have progressed at a terrifying pace at the Baxter. Symbiotized Reed unleashes frightening offspring. I started this issue with trepidation; I didn't want to see all the same old symbiote spawn. So I'm delighted the creators came up with something new, unusual, and scary. Excellent prose and art, although both seem just a tad … "impressionistic"? Broad, skillful strokes, but not too much detail. It's definitely a good comic; if it's not full-on great, it's right next door to great.
what can I expect from Chip Zdarksy? There's a reason why he's one of the best writers out there.
Zdarsky continues to keep pace, destroys us emotionally and keeps us on the edge of the saddle with great twists.
Zdarsky's work got me back into Spider-Man. It reminds me of the time travel story he wrote. It's got Spidey in a familiar time but events not as we recall. Like then he has J. Jonah Jameson of all people in his corner. It's a real good story that I'm sure will be a "What if" fan favorite for a long time to come.
The Symbiote era has been a familiar point the last few years with the Symbiote Spider-Man series. But they were getting a bit stale. This was a refreshing new take on that point. I'm looking forward to the conclusion.
Zdarsky's script has been fine, but I haven't cared for Ferry's artwork in this series. It is pretty basic stuff. Mary Jane looks like a completely different character. The situation seems pretty hopeless going into the finale. It will be interesting to see how Zdarsky wraps this up, whether good or bad.
This has been a pretty solid series and this issue is no different. Just a fun ride with some more twists. A good what if.
Issue 4 of Spider's Shadow is good. This series so far has been good with some minor problems. But that could be me just being nit picky. Issue 4 has great panels and the writing isn't too bad. Although other past issues felt better, with the narration taking me out of it. The pacing was kind of fast. If this were 6 issue limited series I feel like it would help boost the action. The art for this comic is alright. I wish it were a bit grittier given the fact that Spider-Man has been brutally murdering people but that's just me. Still, this series is entertaining and I'm excited to see how it all comes to an end next month.
I have liked this story a lot and look forward to the rest of it, however, I have to say that the art was really bad in this issue and that took the score way down for me.
the previous number was a great boom but this one deflated, from a great drama to a struggle. I didn't particularly like this book very much.
