Hulk faces undead horror as "The Age of Monsters" continues! Hulk investigates the creature being worshipped in an abandoned mining town - and finds a primordial horror as large as the mine itself awaiting him, using the town's residents as human shields. From the darkest corners of the minds of Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein, the first chapter of "The Age of Monsters" culminates in a battle between the Hulk and a monster unlike any he has faced before - but that's only the tip of the iceberg!

When all is said and done, this is going to pair nicely with Immortal Hulk as a delightfully demented one-two punch. Read Full Review

Kleins art is gorgeous. The horror elements are visually exciting and the action is earth-shattering and thrilling. Read Full Review
The Incredible Hulk #3 is a work of visual mastery, leaving much of its story on the surface with explosive action and entertaining characterization. While Johnson's world building and moment to moment storytelling is beyond entertaining, the book's decompressed pace is leaving a lot to be desired in terms of narrative depth that is building at a snail's pace. As a result, judging the story is difficult, but overall this relaunch is still hanging tightly onto consistent quality. Read Full Review
The Incredible Hulk #3 concludes this brief clash between the Hulk and the mysterious Brother Deep. Readers will learn a bit about Brother Deep, and thanks to Nic Klein's art, the monster certainly looks the part. However, the monster's origin ends up being more interesting than the actual monster himself. That said, the writing for the characters' dialogue and the story pacing is good, and the Hulk just shines as the best part of this comic book from start to finish. Read Full Review
I know I shouldn't read a book that involves a smash/action character when that kind of material does so little for me these days, but the team here has promised something bigger and deeper and they are delivering on it. The eldritch and ancient-style approach to the villains helps a lot to create something unique but it requires the artwork to really sell it to be effective. And Klein does that masterfully with Wilson as it's disturbing and creepy but still within the realm of Marvel. This was a good issue to see how Charlie does what she has to in order to survive, nudges the storyline forward a bit more, and gives us some time to see how Hulk handles situations that aren't exactly to his liking but can't be smashed through. Definitely good stuff. Read Full Review

This series is flying under the radar, but I'm having a lot of fun with it. It's unsettling and engrossing, a perfect blend of superheroes and horror. Read Full Review
The creative team clearly has big plans for this new Hulk run, but haven't quite gotten things firing on all cylinders. Hulk fights a Cthulhu, though, so that's neat. Read Full Review
The inks and colors have so much depth here that I was in awe each time I turned the page. Essentially one long action scene, Klein makes every panel thrilling. Hulk has some real weight to him, and the Cthulhu-esque Brother Deep was awesome.
Even in the midst of all the action, PKJ manages to further the relationship between Hulk and Charlie, and establish what their dynamic will be. There is also some nice world-building that fleshes out the Mother of Horrors. This is a spectacular series.
Very exciting issue 🤯
Love this series so far. Big Ugly demons for Hulk to rip up. Love how hes so OP. The side character adds a great element as well for once.
Feel like we got a panhandle Justified/Elmore Leonard crossover with Hulk. Haunting visuals and songs.
This issue has a lot less focus on the ongoing story, but it was put to good use with some fun action drawn by the incredible Nic Klein. I did appreciate the story we did get, however, as Hulk has started to like Charlie after trying to get rid of her at the start of the issue. I think this would have benefitted from a little more actual story here, but this was still a pretty good read nonetheless. I'm really looking forward to Man-Thing showing up in Issue 4.
Art: 4/5
Story: 4/5

A little light on story, but has some great visuals and some good moments.
The first two issues of Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein’s Incredible Hulk series have been light on Hulk smashes while they build a dark and twisted world of horror. However, that all changes in this week’s INCREDIBLE HULK #3 when we finally get a glimpse of the threats lurking for Bruce and the Hulk in this new Age of Monsters.
Things kick into another gear as soon as the issue begins with Hulk fending off a horde of the undead and then falling into a fiery hole to save Charlie, where they both come face to face with the monstrosity that is Brother Deep. Klein’s art has been nothing short of epic so far on this series and it’s on full display during the high octane action scenes that make up a large portion of the more
great art, and I feel the story is much stronger and better than the second issue.

I liked the action in this book and Hulk vs. Cthulu, who wouldn't want that? I also like the young girl. Her face being burned just adds to her character. The only critique I have is Hulk's size, I don't like when they make him 20 feet tall. His pants would never stay on. I believe he's supposed to be 8 to 10 feet tall, but if you look at the pic with him vs. the girl, he's literally four times her size.
