Overall, X Lives of Wolverine #5 was a great finish to the series and an excellent transition to the events climax in X Deaths of Wolverine #5 next week. Everyone that worked on this issue was firing on all cylinders. Read Full Review
As for X LIVES OF WOLVERINE #5 specifically, the issue was exceptionally vivid, graphic, and extraordinarily intense. The pacing was fast, the transitions were clean, and the insight was rather thought-provoking. Like any good Ogre, this issue had some layers. Yet even though the issue had some crazy layers, it also was relentless and so $&@ exciting to read. Read Full Review

The rest of the book is a love letter to the fans of guts and glory all over your page. The battle between the adamantium claws and carbonadium tentacles was one of the best 1v1 faceoffs in a long while. Can't wait to see how the final chapter comes to a close in X Deaths of Wolverine. X Lives Of Wolverine #5 is a good ending to an otherwise stellar series. Its action centerpiece is one of the best Wolverine fights in years, though, and while there are some disappointments with the comic, its still a good read. Percy, as usual, knows precisely how to write Wolverine. Cassaras art is a little lesser than in previous issues but still pretty good throughout. This has been a great series, one of the highlights of the X-Men line for the last year. Read Full Review
‘X Lives of Wolverine' is a story that standing on its own would be relatively fine in execution, but as a centerpiece kicking off the next era of X-Men-related books it can be somewhat lacking. Artistically it's really well done, pulling off what is being asked of them with simple colorful, and brutal ease. Perhaps being read as a full complete unit with its sibling series might bring more to the book overall. Read Full Review
Like the rest of the series, it's functional but forgettable. Read Full Review
Another issue another chapter in comic book perfection. The artwork really stuck out in this one for me especially the colors. I really can't say enough about this story. I absolutely love it!!
Percy is a beast. Single-handedly carries X franchise for 2 months.
Probably the best issue of this event. It seems clear to me that X Lives was the story Percy was interested in telling. It is the more interesting story. I don't entirely understand the point in wrapping these two stories together the way they did. HoX/PoX told two radically different stories, but they complimented each other greatly. This felt like two different ideas forced together. I didn't dislike it, so there's that. I can't wait to see how this leads into X-Force and Wolverine going forward.
I had my gripes with the first four issues but Percy delivered with the fifth. Great action, strong dialogue, and that art... so good. I won't say this made up for the convoluted mess of a series, but it was a great issue on its own.
Confused as to why some x-fans are annoyed by a book about logan's lives doing exactly that. Just months ago, the same people were annoyed by a book about the trail of magneto having nothing to do with that and years ago, x of swords having little sword fights. smh
And...he sticks the landing. Great art too. 💚
It was much better than I thought it would be and after letting go of the dual concept with X Deaths I just had to enjoy the issue for what it it is: a Wolverine tribute with kick ass Cassara art!!
This was the best issue thus far, across both X Lives of Wolverine and X Deaths of Wolverine, in my opinion. The story was good once again, though a little more impactful than everything before, but what really solidifies this issue as "the best thus far" for me is the art. Cassara absolutely killed it here, specifically towards the end during the fight between Wolverine and Omega Red. Cassara's art just fits with Wolverine so well.
There was never any real doubt about how the Wolverine v. Omega Red fight was going to end, but the inevitable good guy victory still comes across as a gory triumph.
I liked the words and *loved* the art. But it didn't quite get the visceral "hells yeah" out of me that the creators probably wanted. To me, it's not great -- but it is very, very good.
Classic Omega Red vs Wolverine. Great issue.
I really liked this issue. The art could've been a bit better, but the writing was really epic.
not a bad issue. Interested to see how this event ends.
Percy really sticks the landing here to give us a strong ending to the time travel hunt. The 'Lives' half of the story meandered at times, but really centered back around to give us the ultimate fight between Wolverine and Omega Red, and damn did Cassara deliver. The last few pages in particular were bone-crunchingly good and the ending with Mikhail felt like the perfect cap on the first arc of Percy's X-Force run, as we transition to Act II.
fine conclusion of some plots... thats the problem "some" plots
