Shazam! #10 would be an outstanding issue on its own; it delivers a succinct treatise on the fantasy of Billy's family, reminding readers why they treasure so many of their collective adventures. But it's even more promising as the start of a new spin on an already excellent ongoing series. Read Full Review
The artists deliver entertaining and expressive art throughout the issue. I really enjoyed the visual styles and how they serve the characters. Read Full Review
Shazam! #10 is a great time, picking up the threads from the previous creative team in a seamless manner. While the plot and writing were quite good, the art was a little inconsistent. Read Full Review
Shazam! #10 continues the Silver Age take on the Captain with a brand new creative team. Unfortunately, the title suffers from the change on almost every level. This isn't the worst comic I've ever read, but the drop in quality, in writing and art, is hard not to notice. Read Full Review
Surprisingly, Josie Campbell's debut issue as Shazam was pretty good. But she was also the previous writer for Shazam so she has a good knack and experience in writing these characters. Even though I will miss Mark Waid, I hope her series will be good.
While the story here felt a little jam-packed, I did also think this was a nice debut for Campbell on the series. At the time of this writing, this is the first and only book I've read from her and I believe she did a solid job. I think she showcase a good understanding of the characters, and I also appreciated that she took Mark Waid's run and built upon it rather than just ignoring it since she's taking over the writing duties. Overall, I thought this was a good start for Campbell's run and I think it has the potential to be pretty fun.
I thought this comic would go downhill without Mark Waid, but thankfully it's still pretty good!
The Shazam family moves back into their house after Zeus repairs it for them. However, Zeus has added some surprises to their home which Shazam is not too impressed with.
A fun comic that keeps the tone of Waid's issues before it.
