Blade #6 presents intriguing new takes on both Blade and Dracula. And their brief mentor-mentee relationship goes to some dark yet interesting places. Read Full Review
Ferguson delivers some beautiful art in the issue. I love the simplicity of framing both characters in almost every scene and how they visually contrast with each other. Read Full Review
The story and hero evolve in bold and deliberate new directions. Read Full Review
In the final moments, the audience sees a surprising call from Bruce Banner hinting at the Hulk making a dynamic appearance in the next issue. Very curious to see how the Hulk will influence this story, and where that will lead Blade on his path. Read Full Review
Blade #6 gives readers what should be a cataclysmic meeting between two enemies but delivers an issue devoid of dramatic tension or wow moments. Blade does what he sets out to do, and Hill does give Blade a level-up, but the overall issue falls flat. Read Full Review
Blade #6 is certainly competent in its telling and suggests a dynamic between Marvel's most famous vampire and vampire hunter that could be worth exploring, but it's largely dull terrain in this telling. Read Full Review
Blade unlocking new vampire related powers is interesting. Also looking forward to the Hulk getting involved in this story.
A bit of a step-up from the last two issues, in my opinion. The story felt a bit more consistent and concise here, which I was glad about. Also, Ferguson did a pretty nice job filling in for Elena Casagrande here. I didn't even realize he was a different artist at first when I looked at the first page. Hopefully this series can maintain the upwards trajectory in quality, or at the very least stay at this level.
This run took a terrible dip in quality, but it's on a upward turn. I don't understand his past with Dracula or why he hasn't killed him. I must have missed the run about him being sheriff and Vampires now being common knowledge and accepted. That seems weird to me in the Blade universe, since his whole existence is based on wiping them out. I liked the interraction between him and Dracula, but I have reservations about allowing Blade to shift to smoke, etc.

This does feel lacking. As mentioned this is really fast paced and you can read the book in like 2-3 min. Really its just a long training montage to help Blade surpass his 'human-ness'. Art is meh.
One thing I will say is the set up for the next issue is nice. I look forward to the next issue. This issue was just ok. I am being a bit light on it, probably should be a 6.5/7 rating, but I understand this issue had to be a training issue with how bad Blade got ruined last issue. So it served its purpose.
This is a very fast read and not a lot happens. Dracula mentors Blade in his fighting techniques. That's pretty much it. Oh yes, and Bruce Banner appears on the final page setting up next issue's guest star.
The change in artist was a bit of a downgrade for me.
I remember how good the first few issues were and this doesn't live up to that early promise.
