Blood Hunt #5 makes the whole event worthwhile. Blood Hunt has not been the most accessible event to keep track of, but this final issue captures the excitement and the magnitude that the crossover deserved. Read Full Review
Jed MacKays star has been rising for quite some time, and we finally see what hes capable of when it comes to these big events. He really excels when given characters who arent constantly in the limelight, and he continued to do that here. Meanwhile Pepe Larraz shows us with every single panel why he is one of the best in the business. Each panel is full of life, and we see some of the depth and gravitas that comes with these characters. The players here are almost mythic, and Larrazs depiction of them here is jaw dropping. Blood Hunt #5 is a fantastic finale to an event that has stood out. It has kept things interesting and surprising with every issue, keeping readers on their toes. The fallout from it should be intriguing and hopefully going forward, we get more events like this. Read Full Review
There are unexpected consequences for a number of heroes, and the question of who is REALLY manipulating events leads to at least one shocking consequence, and the art really sells that point. Read Full Review
Given that the entire premise of Blood Hunt has featured vampires and monsters and many of the darker corners of Marvel, this final issue delivers all the pulpy goodness you could have expected from such a premise, though understandably not all fans of Marvel have been as excited by the event. Blood Hunt #5 ends a (too) massive Summer event on a mediocre note. The big battle is just okay, the outcomes are predictable, the plot is paper thin, and at least one twist you could see coming from a mile away. The saving grace of this event is Pepe Larraz's spectacular art, but on the whole, this ending and the event are forgettable. Read Full Review
Excellent conclusion to a very good event. The art was absolutely gorgeous, the writing and story were really good. The players all performed their roles very well and if I had a gripe (I don't) it would be that Strange should have seen that betrayal coming a mile away. Great stuff though, will have a lasting impact too.
Plot
MARC SPECTOR! and his army of Moon Knights arrive on Earth to help the Avengers stop Varnae in the battle at the Temple of the First Blasphemy which is absorbing more energy from the Dark Dimension, but Bloodline and Miles Morales arrive to attack with everything.
The sequence of Thor vs Varnae is mind-blowing.
Doctor Doom receives the title of Supreme Sorcerer from Doctor Strange, with the condition that when Doom saves the world he returns it to Stephen Strange.
Doctor Doom with the help of the students of Strange Academy takes advantage of Varnae being distracted and manages to remove the Dark Force cloud from the sky of the entire planet.
Wanda manages to catch Varnae while Blade rec more
One more time, I'm prefacing this review by stating that I got the Red Band Edition. Anyways, this was a very good conclusion, in my opinion. Larraz killed it on the art and MacKay wrote everyone super well. I was slightly annoyed by Varnae/Blade saying his weakness to the heroes right before said weakness (Brielle) showed up and took him down, but it wasn't a huge deal. That said, this was an awesome event series from a pair of fantastic creators.
Good ending albeit rushed but it delivers an enjoyable read with promise for a future event worth following. I have to give it up for Pepe Larraz and Marte Gracia they were fantastic on art and made this average story look beautiful.
ending was a little bit rushed, but overall it was pretty satisfying. this is one event I would reccomend to people
